Dr. Aliya Khan Kohler, MD

Very rushed and condescending. I went to see her for a second opinion when my cough failed to improve. She repeatedly asked me about why I blindly followed my primary physician's advice to take over the counter Tylenol. She was pretty clear during the Tylenol interrogation that I was pretty stupid. Ironically, the written follow-up instructions she gave me stated, "Take an over-the counter pain medicine, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol). The follow up instructions also documented the medicine she had prescribed me. Small detail, she never mentioned the prescription during the short visit or even provided the subscription to me. If you must see her, carefully read the written follow-up instructions she gives you so you can insist on leaving with the prescription she documented giving you.

Dr. Kohler was seemingly unfamiliar with superficial blood clots, which I've since learned from other medical professionals, is a common condition. She even took time during our visit to stop and look up and read about the condition on the computer in the room. She unnecessarily prescribed an antibiotic (superficial blood clot is not an infection) and referred me to the ER for an ultrasound. Fortunately I refused and found out later that it would've been a costly waste of time, as ultrasounds are not performed after 5 p.m. I would've had to come back the next day. After all this, she billed my insurance $200 for an extra-long (45+ minute) first-time exam. I've never had a family practice doctor charge so much for so little treatment.

Attentive. Made a course of action that helped me greatly.

This doctor wasn't courteous at all with me when I went into urgent care. She was short and questioned the answers I have her (eg are you positive your symptoms began on Monday?). She diagnosed me with the flu even though my symptoms had been going on for over a week. I ended up back at another urgent care later in the week. I will never go back to that urgent care for the fear that I'll get her again.

She's aweful. I stopped seeing her 2 yrs ago and wouldn't EVER go back.

I have had pretty good luck with Dr. Kohler. Her staff is courteous and helpful.
