Dr. Aliza Rachel Lipson, MD

I had to come all the way from Alabama to go to Emory and seek care due to my awful rheumatologist I was seeing refusing to treat me and ignored me. Let me say when I got in to see Dr.Lipson I was in a wheelchair and could not walk or bend my knees. My right knee was extremely swollen. I got in on an urgent referral by Emory ER. Lol as soon as Dr.Lipson came in the room ahe asked me how did I get in so quickly since they have a wait list. I told her I'm that bad off. Lipson took the time to listen to me, document my ailments, and even examined my swollen knee. She told me she would have to drain the fluid from my knee and inject some steroid in it. She also said she would send it off to be cultured to see if there is an infection. She put me on 20mg of prednisone and had me do a full blood pannel and UA. She also wanted to get all of my past medical records from previous rheumatologists and hospitalization records

After reading some of the other reviews on Dr. Lipson,. I was absolutely astonished at some of the claims made in the reviews. I already had the appointment made through my primary care doctor and called to tell them what I was reading in these reviews. The nurse assured me that if I would go ahead and keep the appointment she felt that I would be pleasantly surprised. Dr. Lipson entered the examining room with a smile on her face and was very courteous and concerned,. In fact, her bedside manner was excellent! She spent as much time talking, examining and answering questions as anyone could possibly need. When I was leaving, I told her that I had read the reviews and didn't agree with them and I was going to be certain to write one of my own. She assured me with some of the reasons that a person might be dissatisfied with their visit and I understood the reasoning completely. Take it from me. This is a great place to go.

"Your'e stuck" was the last thing I heard from Dr. Lipson. Her bedside manner was awful, she was condescending, rude, in a hurry, forever running late, and REFERRED ME TO THE INTERNET OR MY PHARMACIST when I had a question about a new medication or one that we were considering trying. I felt like I did all the work for her. On top of that, I was at Emory and they are so large, they do a fantastic job of making you feel like a very small cog in the wheel. Wait times were always at least an hour over appt time. So dehumanizing. She shouldn't be treating patients. It's clear it's not her passion in life.

Very very disappointed. Zero bedside. No sympathy or understanding. Rushed. Not thorough. Horrible.

Patient care is HORRIBLE. CONDESCENDING ATTITUDE. I agree with the previous post. She needs training in PATIENT CARE. Rude and insensitive.

It was a horrific experience. She was rude,condescending, and cruel. She stated that I should "go somewhere and get myself infused with something." I have a chronic rheumatic condition. The visit was traumatic. She is a disgrace to her profession. She has no business treating people with complex illnesses, as she lacks the intellectual heft this requires.
