Dr. Alka Sharma, MD

My experience with Dr. Sharma was terrible. She did not listen, ignored recommendations from my previous GP and was overall a rude physician.

Dr. Alka Sharma is a terrible physician. She ignores patients concerns, has a horrible bedside manner, and lacks integrity. Either her or her clinic is paying Yelp to have negative reviews removed or hidden. I know because she did it with mine. She also, hilariously, reviewed herself on google. Considering that she is hiding bad reviews and giving herself 5 stars (conflict of interest much?) combined with her mistreatment of many of her patients, I would not trust this doctor with a stuffy nose.

Not interested in keeping new patients, dismissed serious health concerns, contributed to a year of suffering and the prolonging of a serious diagnosis.

I had the misfortune of meeting Dr. Sharma for a recurring problem I had been having. She came highly recommended, but within the first few minutes of meeting her it became very apparent she had no intention of keeping me as a patient or addressing my problems. I could barely finish a sentence before she shuffled me out of the room, where I could hear her tell another worker that she had to get out of there, obviously in a big hurry. The most upsetting part of our interaction was when she suggested to me that I had could have been making up my symptoms, despite the medical records she held in her hand with analysis and medical test results indicating the many times I had to visit a doctor for my condition. Was she suggesting also that the multiple doctors who ran samples confirming the painful infections, and then prescribing, each time, strong antibiotics to treat the infections, were also making it up? I was flabbergasted by this accusation, especially with the test results clearly… showing my condition. The results she had had faxed over to her office prior to our visit. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. The only positive thing that came of this visit, was that it prompted me to finally make an appointment with a specialist who not only proved to be much more knowledgeable than Dr.Sharma, but was able to prescribe me necessary medication to treat future infections. Absolutely will never see Dr.Sharma again.

There are too many things that she misses or fails to understand. She is generally a nice person, although does not understand the mechanics of a back injury. Nobody should be given oxycontin from the get go. She doesn't understand thyroid disease and will insist your symptoms are allergy related and in your head - yes, that's close, but your thyroid is in your neck... She told me to drink ginger tea for my nausea associated with thyroiditis. My TSH was 122 and I was walking like I was drunk! She prescribed a thyroid hormome (cytomel) 12x higher than the typical starting dosage. Am so happy I didn't stroke out and thankful for the internet. She became angry when I produced research at my appointment. If you are knowledgeable patient and consumer, she is not for you...

Dr. Sharma does not listen nor does she seem to pay any attention to my concerns during office visits. When I called to ask for her advice when I was too sick to go into her office she told me I had "the flu" and to make myself some chicken soup. I had to be rushed to the ER 2 days later with AFIB because I could not breathe. I do not trust this Dr. and am seeking another.

I love Dr. Sharma. She is through, willing to listen and follows up.

Dr. Alka Sharma has been my Mom's Doctor for a couple of years now. When my Mom was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure, I wasn't sure what to expect and was not very confident about my Mom's health specially after being in the hospital for quite some time. My Mom was in the care of Dr.Sharma while she was in the hospital and she continues to see the Dr. to this day. The day I met Dr. Sharma is the day where I regained confidence in my Moms health. She delivered the highest level of care and gives us all the information we needed to know without the mind boggling medical terms that most of us don't understand but pretend that we do just to get the appointment over with. Every visit is simply just like visiting a friend where you sit down and chat and leave and just cant wait to visit her again. Okay so I might be overdoing it but that's how my Mom and I feel and you'll all agree with me once you meet her. We really appreciate everything about Dr. Sharma....truly heaven sent! … Thanks Dr. Sharma!

I have been seeing Dr. Sharma for over 10 years. She is a very supportive, detail oriented and responsible doctor. In addition to our doctor-patient relation, she has always treated me as her friend. She has recommended excellent specialized doctors to me as needed. Thank you Dr Sharma.

I have seen Dr. Sharma for over 15 years. She is very professional, caring, genuine and a good person. I could not have a better PCP. Thank you Dr. Sharma!
