I laugh at the negative reviews on Dr. Block’s attire. He has been wearing Hawaiian shirts for years. The fact is he is an amazing Doctor. He is just unconventional. He got my seizures under control when others couldn’t. He handled my Dad’s Parkinson’s in the last 10 years of his life. You can go to Mayo Clinic or Barrows. I prefer the personalized approach.

those of you who complain about his attire, back up. You are not there to be fashion police. You're there to seek medical care. I think Dr. Block is an amazing doctor. He dx me and his bedside manner was impeccable!! He is an amazing man and doctor.

Dr Block has been my doctor for 3 years now. He is the only doctor to get my epilepsy under control thankfully! He is an excellent doctor and I would recommend him highly! He is very caring and knowledgable. He is an excellent doctor.His staff is also very caring and helpful!

I read through some of the comments and agree with a number of "real people" who left feedback and agree with those that give a "low" opinion of this Doctor. The definition of a Neurologist "is a doctor who diagnoses and treats nervous system disorders. These conditions include muscle, spinal cord, nerve and brain diseases. That is what we went into him for and we were REFERRED to him by another doc...so I guess the other doc didnt know what he was talking about either. Did not listen, kept interrupting, very indifferent and uncaring attitude, very unprofessional..specifically said, I can't help..don't know...RUN don't walk away from this guy, unless you are on the list of what he does do??? expect nothing when you go as that is what you will receive

I highly do not recommend this doctor. This doctor did not want to listen to me or read any prior reports. He typed his opinions of me without looking at me much. My husband also visited this doctor and we both felt the same reaction. He interrupts when we tried to tell him things, as we interrupted his typing, and his examining room was dusty and not well-equipped.

First of all, Dr. Block although comes in dressed casual everyday which may detour some of the Snobs away, he is quite knowledgable in his line of work. I for one would prefer to not judge a Dr. by his attire, after-all, I have been to plenty of Dr.'s in the Valley that Dress with suit and tie and otherwise what is considered 'professional' and not one of them compared to the experience I had with Dr. Block. I loved his relaxed demeanor, the sense of concern and willingness to help me find out what is wrong and treating me. He does not usually smile and keeps a straight face, which at first made me uneasy, but I soon got to know that, that is just who he is. He is not here to make friends with me, but to listen to my problems, and help me try and treat them. His staff is always very nice on the phone, and in person. Melissa is the girl that always greets me when I come in, and always has a smile on her face, and knows me by name without even having to check what name I put on the sign… in sheet. Carol is the one I call for my refills, and she is absolutely a kind person. For anyone to say otherwise I believe to be making false accusations. He always takes me, and my many friends that see him back within 5 minutes of my actual appointment time whether that means early, or late (if you wanna call that late). I've never had that same experience at any other Dr.'s office before. Not to mention Dr. Block does all of his own work, with no medical assistances, PA's, ect. Anymore that is becoming the 'Norm' to see someone other than the Doctor. One thing I'd like to point out is that Dr. Blocks goal is to help his patient to the best of his ability. If he cant treat you for certain issues, he will give you names of Dr.'s who can. When I had a routine check up and mentioned another problem I was having (hoping he could help me) he gave me #'s and names for someone he recommended since it wasn't something he treated. I am happy that I did not see any of the negative reviews prior to seeing him, because had I, I may not have made an appointment with him and would have missed out on having him as my doctor. I not only recommend Dr. Block to family, friends, and strangers, but would encourage people to make an appointment and see for yourself that even a man who wears Hawaiian shirts and sneakers can be quite smart, and a wonderful Doctor.

I have met many neurologist since my condition started 16years ago. Unfortunately, it is not easy finding a good doctor patient relationship. From the moment I me Dr. Block through Barrows Neurological center the first time I liked his bed side manner his compassion. And all he didn't have all the answers he was enthusiastic about learning more about my condition and how he could resolve it or at least create a strong life maintenance plan for me. I have been Dr. Block's patient going on 15 years now. I would Highly recommend him, if you are in need of a good dedicated neurologist
