Dr. Allan R Hartsough, MD

When we moved to the Twin Cities, I was forced to choose a new doctor at 20 weeks pregnant. Talk about anxiety provoking. I am so thankful everyday in my choice of Dr. Hartsough. From the moment I met him, I was blown away with how respectful he came across. He is very calm, kind and has the best bedside manners I have ever encountered. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in a baby born sleeping at full term. Dr. Hartsough was there every step and there for every step of our journey since.

Dr. Hartsough was not our original Dr. But after our Dr. fell ill, we were shifted to this Dr. He was VERY caring, explained everything to us and made us feel comfortable about every step of the pregnancy. He also delivered our baby and was very professional and kind. I miss having him as a doctor already! You can not go wrong having him as a Dr. He has the most calming voice and really cares about his patients.

Dr. Hartsough has been my OB for 6 years and now we are relocating to Florida, I will miss him. He cared for me for both of my pregnancies through the birth of my beautiful boys. He is exceptionally caring, very knowledgeable and experienced. I absolutely LOVE his nurse Ms. Deb. Love her! Overall A+care by Hartshough and his team. Best OB ever!

I like the doctor. But after 10 years on hormone replacement yet another mix-up on the usual year-at-a-time prescriptions caused the drug to lapse. Three weeks of repeated efforts to contact the doctor's office about renewing hormone replacement prescriptions have gone unanswered -- personal messages, two faxes from the pharmacy, talked to a nurse, all without results. This time I have gone 3 weeks without the hormones. My body is now in significant reaction to the sudden loss of these hormones. I'm still waiting. I don't know if the doctor is overloaded or the nurses or office staff have the problem. The doctor is helpful and the personal aspect of care is great. But several times these clerical problems have arisen and it's been unreasonably time-consuming to resolve them. Even though the messages supposedly have gotten through there is no response from his office. I don't know what to do. My weekday teaching schedule doesn't allow long enough breaks for me to be able to personally… stay on hold long enough to get through by phone because of the inordinately long wait times during daytime hours. But that still doesn't explain what happened to the faxes and messages that don't get through. This has happened several times over the years. I don't feel it should happen even once.

Knowlegebale, caring, thorough, etc etc. I cannot say enough about him or his great nurses : )
