Dr. Allan Michael Smiley, MD

I had Dr. Smiley many years ago. Get was attentive,a great listener and even gave me his personal number to call if in need. Dr. Smiley would call and check on me. I remember Dr. Smiley recommend I sleep by 10 pm for proper rest. Dr. Smiley called me from his home after midnight. I was up watching the late night movies. Dr. Smiley talked to me until I was able to relax & fall asleep. A wonderful doctor for me. I was heartbroken when he left Poughkeepsie, NY. Wish I still had him now! DeSiree Jackson

There are much better physicians in the area. Don't waste your time here. Staff is rude (Bonnie)! She will let you know that anything she does for you is a favor! "Dr." is more interested in where you vacation than why you are there.

I would not recommend going to Dr. Smiley. I felt he didn't listen to my symptoms and wanted to push meds. Diagnosed me as having fibro when I actually have RA. Wasted a year taking NSAIDs instead of stopping the progression of my RA and now I have significant deterioration in my hips, hands and ankles.

Saw him three times and he only spent about 2 minutes each time. Did not address my concerns. Do not recommend.

I have been seeing Dr Smiley close to a year now, & although he is a very nice man as a patient I would not recommend him to someone else..there doesn't seem to be much investment to figure out what might be the root issue & I can't see the sense In wasting time on return visits just to refill scripts if a proper diagnosis hasn't been established.

Office staff is rude and not helpful at all. I would seek other medical offices before I would recommend dealing with these unprofessional women

He's nice enough, but I was never in with him more than 5 minutes. There was no effort to find out what was really going on with me, just "do you need refills?" No effort to get me off the narcotic he put me on. I don't want drugs, I want to know what's wrong with me. Don't doctors do that anymore? This one doesn't; coast through the appt and write the script.

Dr. Smiley is very old school and doesn't believe in advancing his practice into the 21 century. I was schocked when I heard him yelling at a patient while they were walking out of the exam room! Everyone heard him and just looked around wide eyed. Bonnie his nurse is unprofessional and incompetent. After waiting for two months for my perscriptions, a very long story and againg thanks to their incompetence and lack of concern for their patients well being, she told me she didn't have time to fax my perscruiption to my provider.I've never been treated so badly by any doctor's office in my life. Save yourselve the trouble and just look for someone else!
