Dr. Allan Mark Weissman, MD

I was very pleased with the ability of Dr. Weissman to provide pain management treatment. However, the practice runs like a factory and his office staff is disorganized. I also think that the practice needs to meet more frequently with patients to clinically follow up on how they are doing. I was appalled when the practice no longer took my insurance. Initially I was told to wait a few months until they straightened out the paper work with my insurance company. Apparently two of the physicians bought the practice from another one of the physicians and they said they needed to straighten out the change in names, etc with my insurance company. There was no official notification given to me until I called the office and they told me. I could have found another physician in the meantime. I was allowed to come back one more time for a prescription and a discharge meeting with a nurse practitioner. I was never allowed to have any professional closure with my physician. One of… the other physicians had always reassured me that when my insurance changed to Medicare, they would not drop me and would remain committed to helping me. This was one of the most emotionally disappointing experiences I ever had with a medical practice. Dr. Weissman was a lovely and competent gentleman. But a medical practice is a business like any other. I just felt that I was treated so poorly at the end. The office administrator refused to return my calls and I wasn't allowed to have any further conversation with my physician.

His practice is a conveyor belt of injections under anesthesia resulting in maximum milking of insurance companies. Does not listen to patient complaints until he has performed 4 series of injections. Is presently under investigation by several insurance companies. Staff does not respond well to questions. Staff too distracted from I-phone even during O/R functions.
