Dr. Allen J Simms, MD

My experience with Dr. Simms was extremely disappointing due to repeated lapses in professionalism and patient care. His communication skills were poor and often unclear, making it difficult to feel informed or confident in his treatment decisions. He did not take the time to educate me as a patient or explain procedures in detail, and our face-to-face visits rarely exceeded fifteen minutes. Dr. Simms seemed overly eager to perform procedures and surgeries, yet his follow-up care was completely lacking. After one procedure, I experienced complications that required urgent attention. When I contacted his after-hours line, no one responded, and despite leaving messages for him directly, I never received a call back. Ultimately, I had to go to the emergency room because I had no guidance on what symptoms were normal or cause for concern. Communication breakdown extended beyond patient contact. Messages sent through the patient portal went unread, and there appeared to be no coordination… between him and his nursing staff, leading to confusion and difficulty with appointments and follow-ups. Overall, Dr. Simms displayed a concerning lack of professionalism, bedside manner, and patient engagement. He seemed disengaged, unresponsive, and poorly trained in essential interpersonal aspects of medical care. To make matters worse, he ordered an unnecessary procedure that ultimately worsened the condition I originally sought treatment for. In summary, Dr. Simms failed to meet basic expectations for competence and care. I would not recommend him to others seeking a responsible, communicative, and compassionate medical provider.
