Dr. Allen King Wong, MD

I saw Dr. Wong for about 20+ years and without notice, he was gone! I started seeing another doctor and it turns out that Dr. Wong had me on a lot of medications that were meant for short term. I was on most of them for way over 15 years! The damage they have done to me is unknown at this point, but my kidney function will probably never recover!

He’s the best period! He’s very poignant and detailed in how he explains what’s going on along with required actions.

I've been going to Dr. Wong for over a decade and am very satisfied with his attention to detail for my health. I never feel rushed and he always takes time to understand what's going on with my life besides the physical things so he can understand the whole picture. I also like his frank honesty when letting me know something that I may not necessarily want to hear (but I need to hear). I've recommended family members and friends to Dr. Wong because caring doctors who are current on the latest treatments are hard to find and Dr. Wong is an excellent one!

I am not used to doctors feeling concerned about what's bothering me and so I don't often go to see a Dr. But I needed help. I was so taken back by this gentle, caring, and knowledgeable professional by the name of Dr. Wong. I truly felt blessed to have met him. At the conclusion of my visit (taking more than 30 minutes) I thanked him, almost in tears because I've never experienced a Dr.'s genuine compassion for me. He very humbly said Thank you. He followed up with all my lab results in writing and made personal comments to help me understand the test results, I could not ask for more. I promptly made him my GP.

I am a native of Charlotte, and my mother retired from her medical career at Presbyterian Hospital. Believe me, I know some doctors that have horrible attitudes and little regard for their patients. I feel very lucky and blessed to have Dr. Wong as my PCP. I have been a patient of Dr. Wong for 10+ years, and throughout the years he has been very courteous, compassionate, and professional. He treats me as a person rather than a number. He always takes time to really listen to me, and I never feel rushed during my appointments with him. Dr. Wong has always given me an accurate diagnosis; he explains his diagnosis thoroughly and he answers all of my questions. Whenever I have had Lab work performed, he follows up with my Lab results promptly. I feel that Dr. Wong is genuinely concerned about me and my well being. His nurse Jan has been equally professional and compassionate. If I have a need to be seen right away, they find a way to work me in either the same day or the very… next day. If I need to reschedule an appointment there is never a problem in doing so. The Lab staff and the Radiology staff are always prompt and courteous. Some of the front desk staff leave a lot to be desired, which is a shame since they are the first people that patients have to deal with whenever they call in and/or come into the office. I have referred friends to Dr. Wong, and I continue to do so, because I think that he goes above and beyond with his patients. Dr. Wong is simply one in a million, and one of the best doctors a person could have! If I could change one thing, I would prefer that a real person would answer the phone like they used to do. They have switched to an automated system which is very impersonal and cold.

I have had Dr. Allen Wong as my internist / family doctor for the past 3 years. I could not be more pleased. I consider him a great doctor ! He takes time with me to review and explain issues, procedures, test results etc, and to answer all my questions. He is very competent in diagnosing problems and in prescribing appropriate testing. He was even willing to discuss several problems that my wife was having. She is a RN and has now switched to Dr. Wong and is very happy with him as her doctor as well.
