Dr. Allison S. Hunt, MD

Dr. Hunt actually listens and talks through my concerns rather than just moving routinely through the appointment. I feel like an actual person, not just one of a number of patients she has to get through.

I trust her implicitly. I feel listened to and as if my symptoms and opinions mean something to her.

Dr. Hunt is an excellent doctor. She is exceptional in that she takes time to explain her findings (after examination) very thoroughly as well as give positive suggestions/advice for any concerns that you may have. Methodist Hospital is fortunate to have a doctor such as Allison Hunt.

Never feel rushed

Dr. Hunt delivered my daughter and will deliver my second this fall. Ever since I have gone to her everyone from the office, her nurses, and Dr. Hunt herself are all very professional and courteous. She addresses all concerns I have and I never feel like I'm rushed out. I live over an hour away and still continue to see her. She is absolutely wonderful I highly recommend.

She "accidentally" scratched and made bleed my vaginavagina and just said sorry and left the room. Didn't see her again.

Dr. Hunt is amazing and is amazing at what she does.

My wife developed a horrible bacterial infection during a Houston summer as many women do. Dr. Hunt was recommended by a coworker, so she went for a checkup. Dr. Hunt performed an exam and took a culture that came back negative so no treatment was prescribed. However, the issue did not resolve. My wife met with Dr. Hunt once every four to six weeks for approximately three months, with her clinical signs each subsequent month being worse than the last. Dr. Hunt insisted that there was no infection based on her repeated cultures and direct exams. It got to the point that my wife was very uncomfortable and needed something done. On her last visit, my wife told Dr. Hunt there had to be an something going on and that she was very uncomfortable and having issues with her normal routine. After her final exam and negative culture, Dr. Hunt literally stated "there is nothing more I can do for you." She suggested that my wife see a dermatologist instead. My wife even made an appointment based… on her suggestion. However, a friend who had gone through a similar problem suggested a second opinion from an OBGYN and gave a recommendation. My wife met with the nurse practitioner recommended. Immediately, the nurse practitioner noted that my wife had developed a laceration in the vaginal skin due to her severe infection. She did a culture for other species than the most commonly tested, which came up positive. The mistake Dr. Hunt made was thinking it could only be one of the more commonly cultured species. Every culture ordered was the exact same culture. Within a week of antibiotic and fungal therapy based on the new culture and sensitivity, my wife's infection went away. The nurse practitioner was very surprised that Dr. Hunt didn't notice the large laceration that had developed on the vaginal wall and that she didn't think to go outside of a standard bacterial culture panel when repeated standard cultures came back negative with no improvement of clinical signs. Since the infection cleared, my wife has had severe vaginismus develop in the exact location where the laceration had developed, which has severely affected her comfort with intercourse. Although the tissue has healed, the scar of Dr. Hunt's misdiagnosis will affect my wife for the rest of her life. We have been undergoing therapy over the last year to resolve the issue and are nearly there, but it has been a long battle and I attribute Dr. Hunt directly to this problem. I am in the medical field myself and, as a doctor, when the standard tests and suggestions do not work, it is our job as medical professionals to think a little more about why symptoms are not resolving, rather than to dismiss the patient to see a dermatologist. My wife gave her nearly half of a year to diagnose this problem. It was her loyalty to Dr. Hunt that ultimately led to the vaginismus we have been dealing with over two years later. I don't like to talk poorly about people, but I have reached the point where I've had to say something.

she is a horrible doctor , she is so rude and arrogant, she has really bad bed side manner , she could not diagnose my simple vaginitis for one months , she kept giving me the wrong drug , i ended up in the ER . I HATE HER

Dr. Hunt truly cares for her pt.'s. She has excellent bedside manners!
