Dr. Allison Lomonaco, MD

I have known Dr. Lomonaco for many years and she has always been a wonderful doctor. The work of psychotherapy is difficult and often painful but Dr. Lomonaco is a smart, thoughtful and empathic listener who is a deeply skilled therapist. She has helped me immensely over the years and I cannot say enough positive about her as a doctor. A former patient angrily wrote about her multiple times and when I brought this to her attention, she responded with grace and neutrality that I can only imagine might be difficult to read, particularly given the bind she is in as a healthcare provider, unable to respond as other businesses do. She was able to explore my reactions to the postings in an impressive, professional and personally meaningful manner. Her reaction spoke volumes about her and the treatment I would receive and was a far better indicator of the kind of work I would do than the posting I mentioned to her at the beginning of my treatment. She is, of course, human but as I near the… end of my work with her, I felt compelled to write about her to convey to the community how deeply I respect her. I would recommend her without reservation.
