Dr. Allison Badger Lynn, MD

Dr. Allison is an excellent doctor. She is straight to the point and honest I felt very comfortable with her, and trusted her.

I was referred to Dr. LYNN for a central duct excision and biopsy. Unlike many surgeons, she treated me with great respect and kindness while cautioning me that my condition might be breast cancer. I had my surgery on a Wednesday afternoon and within a few days Dr. LYNN called me with results on Saturday morning, so I would not have to wait for results over the weekend. To my relief I did not have cancer, but I did meet a grounded, funny, and talented surgeon who I highly recommend for expertise and bed side manner. My scar is almost invisible after only 4 weeks! Thank you Dr. LYNN.

Had hernia repair surgery just yesterday. Dr Lynn spent quite a bit of time at both the first appt and before the surgery explaining the procedure in detail and answering all questions. Just as important, I've found that 24 hours after the surgery the pain is surprisingly mild - not nearly as bad as I expected. Kudos to Dr. Lynn!

I met Dr. Lynn when my primary doctor made a referral to this surgeon. I had no idea that I had a serious medical condition. Upon keep the appointment with Dr. Lynn she gently explained to me that I had atypical ductal dysplasia of the right breast. 3 years later Dr. Lynn then gently told me that I had breast cancer in the left breast. She spoke with me and my husband, went over all of options and made us feel that we were the most important patient she had. Dr. Lynn helped us through the process of full diagnosis, bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. I have never met a doctor who can compare to her compassion and knowledge. I would highly recommend this surgeon to anyone, and do when the opportunity arises. Great bedside manner and active listener. She will keep you laughing through out the ordeal that you face. I work for another practice in Wilmington, and we have good doctors in my practice, but I remain a loyal patient of Dr. Lynn. I rate her a 5… out of 5

I was a patient of Dr. Lynn for a hernia repair. During the procedure, she sliced my intestine! I was sent home a few hours after surgery unaware that my bowel had been cut and was leaking bowel contents into my abdomen. After a few days of increasing pain and swelling of my abdomen, I called her office. I was told she could not talk to me. I went to the Emergency room. I was told I needed emergency surgery. After surgery I was in the ICU 3 days, then in a surgical unit for nearly 2 weeks! I went home with an open 20 centimeter long wound. I am still waiting to get the hospital bill for this second hospitalization which I think will be tremendous! The pain I suffered was horrible. I need a cane to walk now due to my weakened body. I know I will eventually get well. I have yet to hear from Dr. Lynn since my discharge from New Hanover Med. Center.

She did NOT want to take time to listen... No bed side manner.... I have multiple areas of concern in which I was directed for the visit... Her only focus was on the obvious ..... Basically dismissed any concerns with a "you can come back if you feel it's necessary" -- No Thank You!!

Breast cancer, lymphoma; not I..wasn't in my family history. Painful mammograms that left my breast sore for months had traumatized me to the point that I refused getting them. But what did I think when I found that lump under my arm pit? I must have an infection. Called my Primary care doctor who saw me immediately,sent me for an ultrasound and assured me that mammograms were not as painful as they had been; it had been 4 years since my last one. Dr. Lynn saw me that afternoon, did a biopsy and within days, I was in surgery for a lumpectomy and removal of 10 of 12 lymph nodes. I like her direct way of giving me information which has told me I can beat this enemy which has invaded my body. I have begun further treatments and with my faith in God and the caring, compassionate medical team that is helping me, I believe I'll be fine. May I just refer to Dr. Lynn as my hero who said to me when I thanked her, "don't thank me now, thank me in 5 years when you've recovered".

Dr. Lynn is the consummate medical professional: competent and compassionate. She has an excellent reputation among both peers and patients. Bottom line: I trust her completely!

I was referred to Dr Lynn for an abcess in the breast tissue. She was very familiar with this type of problem and immediately scheduled me for outpatient surgery. Due to recurring infection that failed to clear up she suggested a nipplectomy. I was not too happy with the idea so she continued to see me and tried for months to clear the infection until I became so discouraged that i agreed to her previous suggestion to remove the nipple. She immediately scheduled me for surgery, removed the infected area and did a beautiful job of closing the incision. The infection is now gone and due to the excellent job she did in surgery I have no regrets except that I wish I had let her do it much earlier. She is a wonderful Doctor with much care and compassion. All Doctors should have the level of compassion that Dr. Lynn has for her patients.
