Dr. Allison Marie Ring

Absolutely no bedside manner. Provider has no empathy or sympathy and was dismissive of why I came in. I told her that I knew the root cause and she chose to not listen. I was in pain for 2 weeks and when I left the visit, no answers were given, no anything. I left in a worse state that what I was originally in. She did give me an estrogen cream, admittedly not knowing if it would help or not. It was a last ditch effort on her part and she made that very clear. I tried it and it made my violently ill. I ended up missing work the next day due to it. When I called and asked for a doctor's note, I ended up playing telephone tag and had to explain my situation to 3 different nurses. Each one told me the cream would not cause the any reaction. The 3rd nurse told me the Dr. Ring would "allow you a note, for work" however it was extremely unlikely the cream made me ill. I'm not surprised she would say that being the initial cause of me being there was also dismissed. The whole ordeal was… insulting. I was belittled and my reason for being there was dismissed. Not only do I not recommend Dr. Ring (very difficult for me to even call her a doctor at this point, being that she did not act like one at all), but I also do not recommend a Novant facility.

was given the wrong information on medication, blood test, and she did not inform me she would be relocating. I would of gone with a different provider from the get go. A little scary to have someone be that wrong in the medical field.

Dr. Ring knows her stuff. When I see her, I feel comforted that I'm getting an intelligent, thoughtful doctor. She is the first obgyn who met me clothed before my exam. She tells me everything she is doing before doing it. She was straightforward and didn't sugar coat things, but as a result I was able to trust that I was getting thorough, honest care for her.

I've hesitated to leave this review about my experience with Dr. Ring, but it's time I did. I had excellent surgical care with her when needed many years ago. However, three years after my initial experience with her, I had lost my job, became very ill and was on state insurance. I went to her for a colposcopy and am still stunned by the poor treatment I was given by Dr. Ring and her assistant. I was left in stirrups while they had to gather the correct equipment. I was told the procedure was painless -- it was so painful, I screamed. After the procedure was finished, Dr. Ring and her assistant looked at me as if they were annoyed. Dr Ring's bed manner was dismissive, distant and she behaved as if somehow the entire event was my fault -- as if I was a bad person. I left feeling horrible, and actually have had some issues with going to see the Dr. again. I felt that Dr. Ring thought it was okay to treat me this way b/c of my economic status at the time -- that I was an untouchable of… sorts. The thing is, I'm no longer in this economic situation - it was something I went through b/c I had lost my job, as so, so many people do these days. If it were up to me, Dr. Ring would lose her license. Or, she should be put through serious sensitivity training. I believe all the people who have left a review of how horrible Dr. Ring's behavior is/was -- they are telling the truth. If Ascension has any scruples at all, they would investigate these comments and hold Dr. Ring responsible. She isn't who she presents herself to be. Or, Ascension, you may be on the receiving end of a lawsuit in the future.

Had been seeing Dr. Ring for several years before I came in with extreme ovary pain. She immediately dismissed my concerns and told me the pain was not related to my ovaries (without any examination of me). Pretty much told me to stop bothering her when I called back to say my symptoms had not improved in over a week. Got a second opinion from another OBGYN and found I had large ovarian cysts on both sides. Never went back to Dr. Ring again.

The worst doctor I've ever come in contact with. She treated me as just another young woman on state insurance and made my questions and concerns seem as if I just didn't know what I was talking about. My last appointment with her at 5 and half months pregnant is where she told me that I needed to stop over reacting and that maybe it's because I was overweight at 19 years old weighing 185lbs, without even giving me a thorough checkup. I honestly couldn't even tell you what my appointment was for because she didn't react to any of my concerns of shooting pains up and down my stomach, she listened to his heart beat and then I was pushed out of the door within ten minutes. Two days later, my pains that I was "over reacting" about were in fact contractions and I was 6cm dilated, which caused me to have a stillbirth. When I went to a different hospital, my new doctor called her to inform her on what was going on and she told my new doctor that she would just send me home until I'm ready… to deliver so it's up to me who I wanted to be treated by, with blood pouring out of me I chose to stay with Dr. Mauricio Tobar (he's amazing). She never once called me, even after the birth of my child. I never heard from her again. I will never forget you Dr. Ring. You are a first mother's worst nightmare as an obgyn and I can only hope that you've learned your lesson in the last 3 years. I'm not sorry for saying the truth about Dr. Ring, I'm only sorry I didn't speak up sooner. Maybe this review can somehow help another 19 year old lady out there who had nothing but lost everything.

Very friendly and understanding. Gives each patient a lot of time to think of any questions they want to ask her. Explains any medical conditions very thoroughly! I am very glad I have her as my OB-GYN

I advise anyone not to go to Dr. Ring. I had an appointment with her and she did not care about my feelings. She was not sympathetic at all. I would definitely get a new gynecologist.

I have a horrible experience with this doctor, she is rude and has too much ego. She has her own mind set and do not want to listen to patient's opinion. I think if you can't win your patient's trust, you can't heal them.

Dr. Ring is kind, caring, respectful. I never feel rushed during my appointments. She delivered my first baby which ended up being a c-section and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
