Dr. Allison Michele Tenfelde, MD

Dr Tenfelde repaired my 11 year old’s femur with a spiral fracture and a subsequent broken ankle. She was professional and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I’m grateful that she did a great job fixing my child.

We chose to see another doctor after she cancelled our child’s surgery last minute for no apparent reason

She was more worried about starting her vacation than she was about doing my daughters surgery.

After watching the way this doctor spoke to her own staff. I was afraid to leave my son in her care. She was absolutely nasty to every around her

Dr. Allison had the WORST bedside manners. I am so disappointed with her lack of sensitivity as a doctor . I would never recommend her to anyone.

Had an appointment for our son who has multiple fractures in both arms. Fist thing this doctor tells us is that she is going on vacation so she will not be doing surgery. Why are we seeing you if you are not doing surgery? Then she states that we can wait a few weeks before having surgery, yet both the ER surgeon and multiple surgeons on base told us he needed surgery ASAP. My brother is a radiologist and even he said the longer we wait, the high chance of the bones starting to heal and causing much further issues in the future. For a children’s doctor and a children’s hospital, I am disheartened that this is the king of treatment a child receives. We called back to to the military base to let them know what was going on and filed a complaint with patient services. A few hours later we got a calling from Dr. Tenfelde nurse saying we needed to go back to the military hospital for any further medical help. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional in my opinion. The office even lost my… sons pain medicine prescription and then 10-15 minutes after I left the office called and said they found it could I come back. Unfortunately we were in route to have a CT done and couldn’t turn around, so our son had to have the CT done with no pain management other than Tylenol because of this office. No parent should have to experience this kind of treatment when they are already going through so much with the injury of their child. Especially not from a doctor that only takes care of children. I hope that no other parent ever has to endure the disbelief and anxiety that we did after seeing this doctor.

Dr Tenfelde treated my son with the care any parent would appreciate. Her explanation of the injury and options was clear enough for all to understand. She cares about the development and physical health of my child.
