Dr. Alok Dayal Sharan, MD

Dr. Sharan is everthing a doctor should be and more! He is a fantastic surgeon and is a caring doctor as well. I still can not believe how smooth the surgery went. Highly, highly recommended! I have recommended him to friends who could not believe how welll I was doing after the surgery!

Dr. Alok is truly deserving of special commendation. I thought my back pain would never be gone, he repaired it with his exceptional surgical skills. He has relieved me of my pain and was literally able to walk out of the hospital the same day after surgery, and...dance three days later. I could barely walk prior to Dr. Sharan perfoming my sugery. My whole-hearted gratitude to Dr. Sharan, Billy, Drs. Tim & Matt, the wonderful PT team and the beautiful front desk staff both in medical and PT. I can’t find a way of thanking you enough. I am very grateful for being under the care of such an experienced and capable doctor along with his team, and entire staff.

Once upon a time, a very busy teacher was grading her final exam research papers when BAM, she was struck by the evil sorcery of sciatic nerve pain. Ignoring the pain, figuring it would pass, she kept grading. But the evil sciatica would not stop spreading. First to her back and then to her legs, and even her toes, until she could not walk upright. She limped pathetically through life pretending she was fine. But she was not fine. People told her “Go see a chiropractor! They will fix you!” But, alas, the chiropractor did not help a bit. The busy teacher tried the orthopedist next. This bone magician found she had four bulging discs, so he gave her five days worth of enchanted beans called methylprednisone. She limped home convinced that this would be the magical cure she was waiting for.Within two days, the busy teacher felt a little relief, but, alas, the magic beans only lasted 5 days. The evil sciatica was not going to be scared away by a little prednisone. The teacher… was feeling dejected and despondent, thinking she would never escape the evil curse of sciatica and she became desperate. She tried soaking in epsom salts. Massages. More and stronger enchanted steroids (three rounds). She endured trials of the epidural cortisone shots; three rounds of them, but nothing worked. She tried CBD oil. CBD lotions. She even saw an Ecuadorian shaman healer who left bruises but did not cure her at all. Heating pads. Stretching. Crying. Nothing was working. The curse, it seemed, was going to last forever. For THREE long months, the busy teacher suffered and cursed the bulging discs. She cursed the evil sorcery of the sciatic nerve. She cursed whatever she had done to bring this misery upon herself. The busy teacher was at the end of her rope, thinking that she would never feel normal again when she finally found the supreme wizard of spinal surgery! Dr. Alok Sharan. He told her of the new and magical awake spinal surgery that would banish the bulging and lift the curse off of her sciatic nerve. The busy teacher said, “Yes! Please, fix me Dr. Sharan!” BUT, as in every fairy tale, there were obstacles to overcome; mountains to traverse. These mountains were the dreaded, most horrifying insurance company policies who take pleasure in driving people off of the cliffs of despair. They block the path to healing and laugh with glee as they plan the endless loopholes and nonsensical rules than infuriate doctors and patients alike. This time, though, the insurance company was no match for Dr. Sharan and his office staff. At first, the insurance company would not approve it. BUT some wonderful sisters sent a torrent of prayers and overpowered the insurance company! The busy teacher checked in for surgery on Tuesday afternoon, nervous, but ready to face her fears. She woke up an hour later, still numb from the anesthesia. Once the feeling in her legs came back, the nurse helped her up to walk and WOW! She could walk again without pain. She could stand up straight without pain. SHE WAS WITHOUT PAIN! She went home that night to sleep in her own bed relieved tht Dr. Sharan had banished the evil sciatica forever! The very busy teacher lived happily ever after! The End! This fairy tale is a true one. I honestly walked out of the hospital after the surgery feeling better than I had in three months. The sciatica pain was absolutely gone! It was truly magical. I was in some surgical pain for a few days, but this was normal and a healing pain. I only needed the stronger pain pills for two days and after that some Advil for a week. I had to follow rules about not bending or twisting for two weeks (and I’m not one to sit still or tolerate restrictions) and I did because I did not want to undo the surgery! It’s been six weeks now and I do not regret the surgery at all. I’m back to my normal (ish) self and YOU can be too. If you are suffering, please call Dr. Sharan and see if he can help you too. You don’t have to suffer! He has magic!

I had a complex condition in my spine. Dr. Sharan and his team were able to carefully remove a complex tumor in my spine. I am very grateful for this efforts.

follow up after visit was the Worst!!! He did nothing for my mother and sent her home in excruciating pain. she had to go to the emergency room the very next day. he also told my mother to seek pain mgmt with doctor blanco but never left the referral in the chart. i called 6 times in 3 days and he never returned the call! thanks for nothing. You can be as nice as you want but i'd rather have a mean doctor that actually does work efficiently!!! I will make sure i complete a rating on every site possible!
