Dr. Alpa Kiran Shah, MD

If you have been in an accident, don’t waste your time. This doctor doesn’t care about patients, just the office rules and taking your money. Spoiler alert, she’s the owner, so it’s her rule. She just doesn’t want to make an exception. I get the hassles of dealing with insurance and attorneys (I work in insurance claims). But I specifically told her there are no attorneys. There is no litigation. There is no claim. All of that was resolved 2 years ago. Still, refused to see my daughter. Mind you. We have been waiting over a month for this appointment (didn’t bother to mention their policy when we made the appointment.). My daughter spent over an hour doing the new patient paperwork. I took the day off of work for this appointment. We got to the office, and waited over an hour for the doctor to come in. She finally did, and let my daughter get about 2 sentences in to why she was there, and the doctor says, “I’m sorry, it’s our policy not to treat people who have been in… accidents.” When I asked why, and explained there would be no hassles with any claims other than dealing with my health insurance, just like all of her other patients. She just said, “it’s our office policy,” and still refused to treat my daughter.

Very impressed by her knowledge and patience to listen and answer all our questions and concerns.

Dr Alpa Shah was super helpful in making the diagnosis and explained everything to me in detail in the office. I also saw her partner Dr Kiran Shah in the hospital and he was a great doctor too. Highly recommend.

I am so happy I found Dr Alpa Shah as she is helpful and took the time to check my old records patiently. She was the 3rd Neurologist I saw and finally got all the answers. Her front office staff was great too.

She's probably fine at treating sleep disorders, but I would never refer someone with seizures to her. Diagnosed with epilepsy years ago, I've never had to justify to a doctor that I'm having seizures. "No, that doesn't sound like a seizure." I've had hundreds before. I know what my seizures feel like. I've also had trouble getting through on the phone. My messages aren't returned (even in the case of an incorrectly written prescription when I'm out of medication), and it seems as if the phones are shut off around 3 even though it says they're open until 5. She's used a judgmental and accusatory voice consistently when speaking with me about both medical and personal topics such as whether or not I want to have children. I don't like badmouthing doctors, but I'll make an exception.

I am impressed by Dr Alpa Shah's care and how great is her office team. Highly recommend her as she helped me with my migraines.

She is very straightforward, courteous and knowledgeable. Her staff is helpful and prompt.

Avoid at all costs. My cost being $200 because I don’t have insurance. I scrolled through and read reviews and decided on this place and was highly disappointed. I thought I was seeing Dr. Shah but his wife saw me instead. She carelessly looked at my MRI desk and complained about not knowing how to use her OWN computer screen to look at the mri. Wow. So she told me that she just didn’t know what was actually on my brain and tears began to fill my eye. This was the whole reason why I made the appointment because when I paid for the mri out of pocket ($575) it found something on my brain. I told her that I have been suffering from vertigo like symptoms for the past year and a half. She pretty much told me that I will be dizzy for the rest of my life and I need to avoid any situations and medications that make me dizzy. She called in a medication for me that said that it might help or it might not. And good luck to me. I went to go pick up the medication a couple hours later. Right on… the bottle says CAUSES DIZZINESS. I wasted $215 at this clinic. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC!!!!!

Dr Alpa Shah is a caring and smart neurologist. She explained my neuropathy diagnosis and EMG in so much detail that I felt very satisfied. She also went over all the medications that are out there and I told her that at present the leg pain is tolerable. She encouraged me to continue observation and follow up in near future. Her bedside manners and friendly staff helped me feel relaxed during the visit.
