Summary
Born in Mumbai, India, my family moved to this country when I was a young child and I was raised in Southern California. Inspired by the belief that quality healthcare is a basic right of every individual, I chose a path in medicine. During my medical training, I co-founded a free clinic for the poor in South Los Angeles. I continue to serve on the Board of Directors of the UMMA Community Clinic, which is now a "community clinic partner" with Kaiser Permanente and is the medical home for 20,000 low-income Angelenos.
