Althea Lindsay, DO, MPH

She was dismissive of my questions. Talked about herself non-stop. She gave me the roughest and most painful Pap smear I’ve ever experienced in my life.

WORST DOCTOR EVER!!! Do not use her!! Her ratings are false! She biopsied me without giving me the normal cervical prep. I was SCREAMING in pain for over 22 minutes!!! She said ‘I usually give my patients a cervical prep the night before. When questioned why I did not receive that, her excuse was ‘it wasn’t my PA’!!!! She starts out visit with cancer joke!!!! I am a breast cancer survivor, UNEXCUSABLE!!! I filed a police report against her!! The amount of pressure, force and pain she used on me for a biopsy was ASSAULT!!! Arrogant, incompetent!!! I wouldn’t treat an animal the way she treated me!!! DISGRACEFUL that she is still practicing! Look at her Northwell reviews!!! They are so phony!! I am going after her medical license next!!

Went to her one time in November 2023 during my first pregnancy and would never use her again, the other four at the practice are amazing. They need to get rid of Dr. Lindsay so condescending and rude. She had no idea what to discuss with me so when I informed her of how my 20 week anatomy scan went two days prior just to help her gain her footing she was perturbed and said “how cute you had a speech prepared” I was stunned at the condescending remark as I don’t have to prepare to speak articulately about my own health and body! She then spitefully and vindictively looked at my chart on the computer with this exaggerated cringe of the eyebrows and seized upon my past history of anxiety as a means to regain power in the appointment. She became combative with me about MY CHOICE to come off of a very low dose anti anxiety medication for the sake of my unborn child. She would not come off this subject no matter how uncomfortable I became. I had told her I had a thorough discussion with my… primary care doctor and the OBGYN who conducted my anatomy scan, but she wouldn’t let up. She acted as if I was schizophrenic or bipolar. She insinuated I was at increased risk for postpartum psychosis which really insulted me and she then had the audacity to give me a business card to go see a counselor. I was mortified. That was extremely malicious all because I was articulate and well informed about my own body and my own pregnancy. I declined to ever have another appointment with this rotten woman and Prayed constantly that she would NOT be the one to deliver my baby because she’s so dreadful. Thankfully another doctor at the practice delivered my baby. My baby is almost one year old And guess what? No postpartum psychosis haha.

Rude and condescending, made me cry, has no bedside manner whatsoever

Explains everything to me in a way I can understand. Answers all of my questions. Make me feel like my concerns are really important.

I find Dr. Lindsay to be knowledgeable, compassionate, and she provides exceptional care. She is intentional in that each patient feels their needs are being addressed in a timely fashion. Dr. Lindsay takes the time to provide quality and appropriate care. I would highly recommend Dr. Lindsay.

Was transferred to her from within the practice when I became pregnant. Pregnancy visits were standard, didn't explain any of the blood tests to me, or the baby's development. Would just listen to heartbeat, feel around a bit, and say everything looks good. Pushed the tdap, had the nurse come in to explain it, with me declining. Next visit asked about the flu shot, and when I declined, laughed and said, oh you and your shots! At 38 weeks, wanted to strip the membranes to induce labor??!...I declined. At this point, I called around RI looking for a someone else to take me, but was unsuccessful. At 40 weeks, was pushing me to get induced and to have internal checks...also declined. When I got to 42 weeks, ended up getting induced, and she was pretty decent during labor and delivery, but given the lead up to D day, didn't feel comfortable with her and will not go back for next one.

I walked into the office and waited at the window (I was the only one there) for 5 minutes until someone came over to take my name and give me paperwork to fill out. After filling out the paperwork the nurse called me back and took me to the scale. She told me that she would just take off weight for the purse I was holding and my knee length winter jacket instead of having me take it off. When Dr. Lindsay came in she began to look through my medical history. She asked why I hadn't gotten the HPV vaccine. I told her my reason and her response was "So your mom wants you to get cancer." When I didn't respond she followed up her statement with, "Just sayin'." The rest of the appointment followed with a condescending tone whenever I asked her a question. When I had to go for blood work (the office conveniently has a lab) I was called the next day to be told that they I had to come back in because they had messed up the tests/lost my results. I was given both excuses. I would not… recommend this office to anyone. It has been an awful experience both times that I had to deal with them.

Dr linsey is intelligent, asks good questions, listens,has a great personality.
