Dr. Aluino Lawrence Ochoa, MD

I called to make a new patient appointment and I was told in order to do that I had go pick up some packet to fill out, bring it back, and then they would "check my insurance" and look at my medications to see if I could be a patient. I told her I have panic disorder and I don't drive myself. That's two extra trips that need to be made for something I can literally provide you over the phone. She just kept repeating it's "office policy". So i have to disclose my personal medical info so you can go thru it to determine whether you want to accept me as patient? What kind of Dr is this? You make no accommodations for disabled people either? She made sure to tell me they do not rx pain pills tho. Just rude, classless. Front desk staff always says alot about the Dr himself.

Dr. Ochoa is already in "retirement mode". Nowadays he mostly delegates to Nurse Practitioners. His medical office is the worst: the front office staff is rude, uncaring and disrespectful towards patients. One is kept waiting while the admin and medical support staff chats for extended periods of time (about personal stuff). Nothing bad to say about the Nurse Practitioners except they are not doctors and are not really supported by the doctor. One of them administered a test incorrectly, diagnosing me with only 50% pulmonary function (irreversibly so - according to her), resulting in rushed hospital tests and unnecessary and DANGEROUS prescriptions that run up nearly $2000 worth in bills (not paid by the insurance). Nobody bothered to contact me to communicate the results of the hospital tests - which I ANXIOUSLY awaited the next day. Getting hold of anyone worth talking to is nearly impossible. You are always put into voice mail and you have the feeling that they just don't want to… talk to you. The only way for me to find out what I thought I had was to pick up a prescription at our local pharmacy that contacted me to alert me that my prescriptions were ready. I didn't know what for - so I bought them ($250 worth - not covered by insurance). As I researched the drugs, one of them turned out to be a Black Box drug (classified as such by the FDA as it should only used as a LAST RESORT if any other treatments failed due to dangerous side effects). When I did manage to talk to someone, I was told that my tests were negative (I was healthy) and that this (dangerous) drug was prescribed as a precaution. That is mind-boggling. A friend of mine, who is a retired ER nurse, said that this drug should NEVER be prescribed unless everything else failed. She also wondered by they didn't prescribe a $10 generic drug rather than the $150 brand drug. As it turned out, the initial test that diagnosed me with 50% pulmonary function was repeated by Dr. Ochoa and it was found that the first test had been incorrectly administered. My pulmonary function was fine. I went through all that - horrible existential fears and expensive diagnostic testing and unnecessary treatment (that hadn't even been discussed with me!) for nothing. According to Medical Code of Ethics, the medical provider is supposed to communicate any results with the patient, and DISCUSS treatment options. Before prescribing any dangerous drugs, they are supposed to discuss with the patients any risks. That was never done in my case. To boot, the front desk staff (receptionist Branden and Office Manager) were obnoxious, which then escalated the situation. Like I said: It was a horrible experience that cost me dearly.

EXCELLENT PHYSICIAN THAT CARES A LOT FOR HIS PATIENTS, HE IS WELL FOUNDED OF ALL MEDICAL FIELDS, POLITE, AND COMPASIONATE ARE THE BEST OF HIS QUALITIES

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Ochoa. The man is a no-nonsense powerhouse. I have multiple sclerosis, and he stayed on the case until it was solved. Thank you Doctor.

Tried to make an appointment but after over a week, I got a call saying even though I have Social Security Medicare, the fact I have medicaid share of cost to help with my hospital bills that this prevented my being accepted as a patient.I have never heard of any doctor not accepting Medicare so I suspect the office is out of its mind.It tells me two things: office is misinformed what medicaid share cost is and a lack of customer care .

I sit here in the hospital now and had the unfortunate luck of being given dr ochoa. I will spare my health details suffice to say I'm in a lot of pain. Dr ochoa does not give a crap if his patients sit in pain. I've been in pain for days and have asked a couple times for him to look at my situation but he will not. I've no history of drug abuse and am not drug seeking, I'm just a person in with serious health issues in serious nonstop pain and he does not care.I've seen him a few times and he has spent less than one minute with me each time. The first day he came in at 8pm after I waited all day and night.Very inconsiderate of patients needs. Does not spend hardly ANY time with patients. Knows/does nothing special that makes up for these things. Avoid this doctor because he doesn't care about his patients.

He is the greatest!

Dr. Ochoa is the first and only truly good doctor that I have found since moving to Titusville. I have lived primarily in larger cities that have a reputation for excellent healthcare (Houston, for one) and Dr. Ochoa ranks at the top among the finest doctors I have met. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Alunio Ochoa is great, the front office staff is aweful

I would not recommend this Dr. Kept asking for a referral due to Colon CA in family. He put me off and I ended up with rectal cancer. Thank God I had an excellent GI Dr. and surgeon. He's not the best in the area, thats for sure!
