Dr. Amanda Lynn Kester, MD

I would caution anyone in joining this practice and to consider seeking care elsewhere. As a nurse and daughter, the lack of attention to detail, clinical awareness and basic compassion/kindness received by my parent by Dr. Kester and office staff is embarrassing. My parent was a patient of Dr. Kester for over 10 years and within a week was told to go elsewhere due to asking questions and advocating/seeking further clarification regarding her medical wellbeing/care. Subsequently, access to her patient portal was revoked and received a letter stating they will no longer be seen as a patient and they will stop providing care as of a specific date. Our healthcare system is already hard to navigate and to be treated with such rudeness in the face of questions/clarification is uphauling. My parent does not have complex medical needs nor were the questions unwarranted, however was told they are too busy. If we don't expect our patients and family members to ask questions or advocate for… themselves and when they do are left out to dry and made to start over, what are we doing? I have included the mission of Essential Family Medicine below, none of which my parent experienced in a time when it was needed the most. She is always compassionate and caring. Spends a lot of time listening to concerns. Would highly recommend

My family and I have seen Dr. Kester for about 4 years when we moved to NE from Alabama. She is an AMAZING doctor who cares for her patients and truly wants to help. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a PCM not only is she great but her staff is amazing as well and have provided outstanding care for all 4 of us.

I was a former patient of Dr. Kester (15+ years ago). So, when my family moved back to the Omaha area, I found her name on a search to find a primary care physician. I made an appointment, and unfortunately, I had to reschedule. I was told by the Office Manager, Carrie, that there was a note on my file, explaining that I had been cancelling appointments, and not to accommodate any requests from me. I have never felt so embarrassed. Terrible business practice! Try having compassion next time.

Easy to talk to, easy to get in and realistic with treatment. I recommend her to everyone I know who is looking for a new family doctor.

My primary care doctor retired after 40 years and after searching and seeing others doctors I was about to give up hope of finding one who could replace him. I finally found Dr. Kester. On my first visit she took 45 minutes to sit and talk with me and go over my records. Everytime I have been back to see her over the the last 2 years she is never hurried always friendly and I know that she really listens to me as she remembers things we spoke about from 6 months ago. I'm sorry for the person who left the negative review, but that is not the doctor that I see. Dr. Kester is wonderful, has a great sense of humor and really cares about her patients and it shows.

I have been seeing Dr. Kester for the past year or so and she always has time to sit and talk to me. I have never felt rushed. She is very caring and I recommend her to anyone who is looking for a family physician. I probably am about 15 years older than her and I am glad that I finally have found a physician who actually listens to me and most importantly hears me. I wonder if the person who listed the bad review actually has the right person that is definitely not the doctor that I am seeing.

This doctor allowed me to suffer unnecessary pain during delivery. She could have gave me more pain meds since my epidural didnt work right but refused to. Also during my pregnancy my pain meds got lost and she refused to refill them though I had shown no signs of pain med abuse. Also, she didnt stitch my tear that I got while delivering my baby. I had to go back in and get cut back open in my vagina since the tear had healed. Then I had to get a shot in my vagina very painful. This is only a few of the many bad experiences I had. My advice is to FIND a doctor that AT LEAST PRETENDS to care about your health and well being.
