Dr. Amanda Christine Puentes, MD

I know her son.

We love love love Dr. Puentes and Dr. Lin but honestly someone on their office staff needs to be fired. We've repeatedly had problems with a particular staffer not following up on sending prescriptions, making callbacks, sending messages, or doing confirmation calls. Because no one did confirmation calls last week and I forgot to add the appointment to my calendar, we missed an appointment and my child can't return to daycare. (We're going to go to another practice and are considering not coming back to this one.) They keep adding non-nursing staff but they don't actually perform any function. The last time I was there, three people were standing around listening to the office "manager" tell some story about her wristwatch while the poor young woman at the check-out desk had all lines on hold and was trying to check out a whole line of patients. I waited while nurses tried to find the physical/immunization form I had to leave with, and it wasn't until after the "manager" was done… holding court that someone realized that they were actually holding the very form I was waiting on. This is just disgraceful, and so disrespectful of the doctors and nurses that they work for, who have studied for years only to be let down by people who don't understand how to do their jobs. If you need help in a pinch, Dr. Puentes and Dr. Lin are amazing, but a long-term relationship with this practice is very frustrating.

My Daughter has been going to pediatric partners since the day she was born. But Started to see Dr. Puentes about 5 years ago. Dr. Puentes cares a lot about her patients. She is very understanding. She also takes her time to make sure she has answer all of your question. She even ask my daughter if there is any question that she wants to ask. My family and friends that do have kids I have told them about Dr. Puentes. They aldo bring their kids to see her. The Nurses and staff are very friendly.. When I need to make a last minute appointment because my daughter is sick they do the best to get her in right away. Dr. Puentes is the Best!!! Thanks for all you do..

It was the first time my child was seen by Dr. Puentes, and it was the best experience we have both had. Dr. Puentes was courteous and knowledgable and very easily liked by kids. Even though it was my daughter's birthday and she needed shots Dr. Puentes made her feel comfortable and very at ease with the whole process.

Dr. Puentes came in the room without introducing herself or even saying hello. She looked at my son's throat and walked away. The reason I brought my son in for a visit was because he had a cough.A few moments later, the nurse (who was polite and kind) said that we were free to go. I was not sure if the doctor came in because she did not introduce herself. I asked her if the doctor could come back and listen to his respiratory system. The doctor came back and said, "His throat is irritated, and I will precsribe him a cough supresent." I wanted to tell her about his medical history, but she was short. She walked off still not listening to him with a stethoscope. I will drive extra miles in hopes to meet a doctor that is kind and empathetic. If anyone is reading this and has any suggestions, please let me know.

I took my 10 month old son to see Dr. Puentes for congestion in his chest, nose and for Ezcema flare-up. We were new in town and were looking for a new Ped for both my kids and wanted to try her out. I will not take my kids back to see her! First, I had to wait 1 week to get my son in for being sick since he was a new patient. Once we got to the office, I filled out all of the new patient paperwork (insurance info, birthdates, etc). After I filled the paperwork out and gave it to the receptionist, she calls me back over 5 minutes later to get my husbands birthdate and names instead of just looking at the information I wrote on the paper! (What was the point?) When we see Dr. Puentes, she doesn't introduce herself, or ask who any of us are (me and my other 4 year old son). I tell her the symptoms that my 10 month old had and what I had been doing at home to help. The entire time, she just looked at me and asked irrelavant questions as though she couldn't believe that I knew so much… about my childrens meds and what to give (they are on breathing treatments, Ezcema meds, etc.) She listens to my son and said that she didn't hear anything and that he was better (really because you can hear it when he sneezes and coughs???) My oldest son was trying so hard to get her attention the entire time we were in there and she was so cold and unfriendly with him. She then tells me she is going to send our prescriptions to my pharmacy and walks out the room. We sat there for 10 minutes until she finally comes back to the room to tell us that we could have left. No "nice to meet you", "he doesn't need to come back for a follow-up", "do you have any questions?" nothing! Then we go to check out and the girls have no idea what is going on. I was told at check in I would have a payment at check out, but at check out, the girl said I didn't have to pay anything. She was about to let me walk out of the office without paying because her and 2 other ladies were too busy chatting! Finally, my son grabs a sticker at check-out and Dr. Puentes walks by. My son shows her the sticker and how excited he was...she completely ignored him and didn't care! Dr. Puentes did not personalize our visit and is not a "child friendly" person, as you would think a Pediatrician should be. I would rather drive 4 hours to go see their old doctor than to see Dr. Puentes again! I have already being sharing my experience with other Mom's in the area and they agree that they wouldn't go back to see her either!
