Amber Lynn Furlow

Not even worth the one star it made me give to leave this review!!! Amber Lynn Furlow, APRN, is a horrible provider! She treated me at Precision Spine Care. I relocated to East Texas from San Antonio/ New Braunfels area after being medically retired from Army Civilian Corps where I served as a critical care registered nurse. I made an appointment to see her after my admitting provider had left the group 2 months after I joined. There had been a transcription error made on an anti-convulsant medication of mine being used for nerve pain. I made an appointment to address the error, after making a phone call, and it continuing to go unresolved. I also thought it best to meet my new providers in person to establish rapport. Now, without meeting me, seeing me in person anywhere, or speaking with me in any capacity, Amber decided to call her supervising physician prior to my appointment. She told Dr.Dreiss, her supervising physician, essentially that I was trying to increase my opioid… intake. Dr. Dreiss is as guilty as Amber because he had also never, met or spoken to me prior to their practicing medicine and providing orders for me. Amber entered the room that day without so much as introducing herself and began rattling off the definition of opioids and telling me how I would be reducing them and that they wouldn't be prescribing any extra. Together they had placed me on an opioid monitoring plan. It had me going to the doctor every month and providing urine for prescriptions that do not require routine urine screening and only in person refill appointments every 3 months. I was shocked and upset to say the least after being accused of drug seeking for absolutely no reason. I was NOT there for any additional medications to be prescribed, only to correct an error they made when transcribing a prescription I had from my previous pain management team. A plan I had been on for a couple of years already. That medication was NOT an opioid. The clean resulted urine drug screens they continued to make me provide over the next 6 months while still having to basically beg to fill the pain regimen I came to the practice with, cost me an additional $462 in unjustified medical costs not covered by either of my 2 insurance plans. Amber refused to own that she had made jaded assumptions about my appointment that day, and further explain that I had not come in for the things she initially accused me of. The only people she ever admitted anything to, was me and my husband, alone in the exam room. Because of her lies, inability to accept responsibility, and her lack of professional moral conduct I am still having problems at the group that she has now left. She left without fixing the things she broke- her patient's trust most of all. Anyone who has to go 5see pain management knows you can not just switch doctors as you please. Amber knew that and took advantage. She shouldn't be practicing this way, or at all. ZERO out of 5 stars
