Dr. Amber Rae Gill, MD

1. They do not accept insurance. 2. In order to even make an appointment, you must give them your credit card number, and agree to a charge of $150. I felt uncomfortable giving my credit card number to a total stranger and without ever having met the doctor. All appointments are made online. 3. They don't use paper; rather you are given a small pad to read their rules. The "rules" are the usual disclaimers, privacy notifications, etc. that you see in any doctor's office After you read each rule or disclaimer, you press I Agree or I Don't Agree. 4. The language was fairly standard, except for one sentence that seemed to say that they were not responsible if any mistakes were made. Or words to that effect. I asked the office manager what that sentence actually meant. In response he read it out loud to me. I explained I could read the words, but didn't get the meaning. It seemed I was being asked to sign a contract to not sue if anything went wrong. I explained I… had no intention to cause any pilikila and have never sued a doctor. 5. I asked if I could draw a line thru the puzzling sentence and initial it. I was fine with all the other language. 6. He said No, and then asked me to leave. Harshly. His earlier pleasant demeanor was gone and he was cold and angry. 7. I am an attorney and always read the fine print. Would you want a lawyer who did not read and explain the ambiguous parts of a contract pertaining to you? I am also the unfortunate beneficiary of a incurable genetic disorder that produces faulty proteins in my connective tissue. I have seen dozens of doctors, undergone 23 surgeries and at least 50 ER visits and multiple non-surgical hospitalizations. I have read hundreds of these forms, and have never before read a line that seemed to exonerate the clinic from any wrong that might occur. 8. Not only did they lose me as a patient, they lost all the referrals they would have received from my friends, family and colleagues. 9. So, in short, I sadly did not get to meet Dr. Gill and cannot grade her. 10. Given the inflexibility of the office manager, I can't recommend this place, I have found a new, more experienced, more local doctor, she accepts insurance and doesn't require my credit card number in order to make an appointment.

Dr Amber Gill is an excellent doctor. I would highly recommend you visit her for any concerns or beauty aids. Pleasant atmosphere. Outstanding treatment. Great products.

Dr Gill is an excellent doctor. She is professional and knowledgeable in her field. She is detailed oriented and exemplifies the aloha spirit and culture of Hawaii. She is definitely a promising professional to the Hawaii community.
