Dr. Amelita Lourdes P Basa, MD

Dr. Basa cancelled three successive appointments, making it hard to see her and get treatment. She always had some sort of excuse and never worked to reschedule. She had one good employee who tried to work to keep the office running but that employee is gone. She hires incompetent staff who are young and inexperienced and RUDE. She is now part of a diabetes clinic and her service has gone from poor to REALLY BAD. She does not care about treating the whole person but tries to foist off drugs, some of which now are recognized to have serious side-effects. I've transferred and am now much happier.

Run!! Dr. Basa is a horrible endocrinologist. If you disagree with her or if you complain about symptoms or side effects she becomes highly offended and defensive. She acts this way even if you respectfully disagree with her! I had high levels of androgens (as shown on blood test) and visible symptoms of a hormone imbalance. She had the nerve to say it was normal!!! Really...so its normal for women to have facial hair and male pattern baldness? Then she gives me a prescription. Meanwhile I'm feeling worse. After my 4th visit I immediately found another endocrinologist and he easily diagnosed me with PCOS just based on my appearance which he later proved by doing the CORRECT BLOODWORK! I am now doing much better and no more freak of nature appearance issues. I believe Dr. Basa knew something was wrong but she just didn't want to treat my particular condition so instead she just downplayed and derailed the situation. This is unethical. All she had to do was refer me to… someone else if she didn't feel confident enough to treat my situation. Dr. Basa is not capable of treating a wide range of endocrine disorders. PCOS is a common condition in females of childbearing age. Any trained endocrinologist knows to look for this in young women who are symptomatic. I did notice that most of her patients are elderly, and doctors love elderly patients because they are cash cows and they don't challenge the doctor. Poor souls! They come into the office with a bag of pills that they usually don't even need. Also she hires receptionist and medical assistants who are recent graduates. They are totally inexperienced and when you call regarding appointments, labs, etc be prepared to be annoyed and irritated. Its a revolving door each week! She hires these young untrained people because she is cheap! She only has one regular, I believe her name is Brittany. The wait time is entirely too long. This is her own practice and she is the only physician so keep it movin! If you have insurance you deserve better. And if you don't have insurance and forced to pay cash then you really need to run to another endocrinologist! Be safe guys :)

Excellent care!! Patient education was exceptional. The staff is friendly, promptly returning calls.

Thorough...but always have to wait. Usually waiting 40 min or longer after my appointment time.

after wait 1 hour they told me it'll be 45min wait still. OMG

Excellent doctor. Love her. Since my thyroid was removed, she and her staff have taken very good care of me.
