Dr. Amir Ephraim Harari, MD

I typically never do any reviews or on-line reviews unless I receive stellar service.  With that being said, I believe my recent visit and the last 10-15 years I have been under Dr. Harari's care, definitely warrants sharing my wonderful and positive experiences and interactions I've had with Dr. Harari.  The last 5 years have been horrific for me suffering from Hypothyroidism.  Dr. Harari monitored, educated and informed me of the situation and kept me abreast  with what was going on and discussed action plans when the situation became dire for me.  He referred me to one of the best surgeons for my Thyroidectomy.  Because of his reputable surgeon referral , I felt confident and good about the surgery.  The surgery was a success and a year later, my life has changed dramatically and of course my quality of life has been so much better.  While most doctors spend as little as 5-15 minutes with their patients, that is NOT the case with Dr. Harari.  He spends ample amount of time with you … to address your concerns, goes over with you his findings or concerns and discusses action plans and most importantly, Dr. Harari LISTENS.  He possesses excellent bedside manners and professionalism. Thank you for your great care Dr. Harari!

This wasn't a good experience. I found Dr. Harari to be arrogant and cold. He and his PA (she was kind, just inexperienced) rattled off a bunch of questions, doubted me on my concerns, and when forced to take a closer look with ultrasound, admitted I was right in my suspicions. I'm not a doctor, but I knew something was wrong. A patient can't build trust with a doctor if they doubt you from the get-go and think they are "above" you because they have "M.D." after their name. Additionally, the billing is crazy - all kinds of charges and no one can explain them. I won't go back.

Dr. Harari is a good doctor, but the reason I'm leaving is because of his staff and P.A. With the staff you can't get people to answer the phone and while at the office I waited in line to make another appt. only to be told to go sit in waiting room and they will call me up just to make an appt. after waiting 10 min. I got back in line and was told to wait a little longer. At that point I left and while driving home thought they don't even know my name to call me to the desk. Then problems with orders for test strips and lancets. They ordered 200 lancets and 100 test strips, first you would think they would know that you use one of each every time you test. When I was running low on test strips I call doctors helper and she argued that she didn't order those like that. So after going back and fourth with cvs and this lady, I drove to cvs to ask about this. They showed me the fax they received from her and it was 200 lancets and 100 test strips, plus she wasn't the most plesnt person to… talk to. She never checked her order when I called her. At that point I was done. My wife and I where happy with Dr. Harari but with a staff like he has, its not worth it.

Dr. Harari is a good doctor, but the people that should be taking calls and the staff who checks you, makes appointments and the person who orders meds. are the reason I'm leaving. There has been times where I have called the office to make an appointment and nobody answers the phones and this is after calling multiple times a day. After an office visit, I went to the front desk to make another appointment, I waited for the two people in front of me to finish and asked to make another appointment, the women told me to wait in the sitting area and she would call me up. After waiting about ten minutes the two lines of people where finished and the lady still had not called me up, so I just got up and left. Another issue was my order for test strips and lancets. I went to the pharmacy to pick up supplies and noticed that they had ordered 200 lancets and 100 test strips, and if that wasn't enough one box said to test twice a day and the other once a day. When I called the person who takes… care of orders she told me that the pharmacy had made a mistake in the order. I went back to the pharmacy and they showed the order to me and the pharmacy was right. So I called the women back and she still said the pharmacy was wrong. These are only a couple issues, they had been more with my orders. After talking to the women who orders I had enough. If not for Dr. Harari staff I would still be going.

Dr. Harari provided a very detailed approach to diagnosing the nature and extent of my health issue.

Dr. Harari is 1 of the best. He answers questions and takes what ever time is needed by the patient. I never felt rushed. Very little time spent waiting. Eryn Berry, MSN, ANP-C is very nice. I would not go anywhere else.

First and foremost, their deposit policy is ridiculous. When making the appointment I was told there was a $200 REQUIRED deposit regardless of insurance. When I arrive at the dr office this REQUIRED deposit turned into $250. I was told by the receptionists that the amount would be refunded after insurance has processed any claims. But then once I was leaving the office I was told that it stays on the account for future visits (I have no future visits, and never plan on returning to this office) Upon arriving the front desk seemed extremely disorganized and I would say under staffed but they looked adequately staffed One front desk associate would just not assist anyone. So I arrive at my appointment 30 minutes early, was told to sit down until I was called. I thankfully printed out and filled out new patient documents from online before arriving. It took 30 minutes to be called up to the front desk for them to give me the new patient paperwork. To which I already had and gave to… them immediately. I brought in past information from previous dr as well ultra sounds from previous issues. It took them 10 minutes to scan those documents in and took an additional 15 minutes to be called back. The nurse was courteous and so was the NP. The NP seemed EXTREMELY helpful and EXTREMELY caring and went over all of my symptoms and asked why I came in which was for the dr to look at all past ultra sounds as the ultrasound reports have been inconsistent. I was disappointed with the front desk but the NP restored faith in this office for me and I was excited to be able to have some clarity on a condition I have suffered with for 10 years. And told me that we would get to the bottom of what was going on because my thyroid definitely is not normal. When the DR came in he immediately asked, "Why are you here?" as if I was not welcome in his office and was just a waste of his time. I had to beg him to even look over the 12 ultrasounds I brought in and instead he wasted time explaining how each ultra sound would not give a full view and based on the technician. Which to me would be more of a reason why all ultra sounds should have been looked over. In the end he only glanced at 2 ultra sounds, didn't even scroll through the all ultrasound pictures. Then looked me dead in the eye and said "What are you concerned about? You will never get throat cancer." How can any DR make that kind of statement and guarantee?!? And was not my concern to begin with.The DR spent more time talking to me about my birth control choices and side effects of birth control options and my physical appearance than why I was in the office to begin with. As he is NOT an OBGYN but an Endocrinologist. Then the Dr told me that I never ever ever have to receive another ultrasound of my thyroid unless there is s drastic over night change. Which is completely inaccurate information, not to mention that my primary care DR and OBGYN have recommended ultrasounds to occur every 3 months due to my condition and the FACT that the cysts in my thyroid have multiplied and doubled in size. I left this office literally in tears feeling violated, taken advantage of AND lied to. After the appointment, I had to call in to the billing department to request my deposit back. Not surprisingly, I had to call 3 times to get a hold of someone because the first 2 times I called the billing department someone answered, I heard office chatter and then hung up on me as I was saying " HELLO?!" They had not even processed the return of payment regardless of processing through my insurance over 2 weeks ago. And on top of that I was told the amount would be refunded to the card originally that I used, turns out it does not and they send a check and states it takes 30+ days to receive the check.

Everything was on time. Dr. Harari was appropriately friendly and easy to talk with. There was adequate time to have my concerns addressed and answered. At no time did I feel rushed. The staff members were also pleasant and helpful. Every time I go there my visits are excellent from start to finish.

I've been to Dr. Harari three times over a year. He is quick and efficient and easy to understand. I'm still working with him to get blood work under control.

Dr. Harari is courteous and kind. Moreover, he knows everything about Type I diabetes, including pump therapy and CGM. He always knows the latest research and treatment. I trust him and genuinely like him. His back office staff is lazy, undependable, and cannot follow-through. Doc doesn't seem to know this.
