Dr. Amir Reza Moinfar, MD

I was told it would be a 30 minute consultation for $200. They take the $200 upfront which is always a bad sign. The "consultation" was 3 minutes max, which included maybe 1/2 minute exam of my knee. The Dr. flew out of the room so I asked a question to the tech and got a vague answer. I was supposed to get an MRI and then call back after a few days. When I called back they said the receptionist would call me back with the results of the MRI. The doctor will not discuss with patient or make follow up to go over MRI. The receptionist called and read a couple of sentences to me and said she doesn't know what any of it means, she just reads it. There is definitely cracks/tears in both meniscus but the important thing, how deep they go or if they will ever be able to heal.....well she does not know what a meniscus is, and her accent is heavy and I can barely understand what she is saying. (She was actually very nice, not her fault). I was hoping to get some information on how to… care for it, should I wear a brace, what kind, prognosis, etc. but that will not happen. I will need to go to another Ortho if I need a consult. I would not get surgery from this guy anyway; I looked up his stats, it turns out his "Rates of Poor Outcomes including Prolonged Lengths of Stay, Readmissions, or Deaths" is twice that of an average rated surgeon. That mean not twice that of an excellent surgeon but twice that of a mediocre, middle C rated surgeon. Why am I not suprised. Do your homework and don't go to a place like this that feels like a meat market.

Dr Moinfar is an incredible Doctor and Surgeon. He and his staff have been not only professional but helpful to the point of going out of their way to assist me. Over the last few year I have recommended Dr Moinfar to multiple people and each person has come back and told me how pleased they were. He is knowledgeable, professional, and comprehensive in his approach. I am very thankful that I was referred to him. And am more than glad to encourage you to come and meet Dr Moinfar and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed .

Post op surgery continued with pain . I had apple very 4-6 weeks with same complaint of pain. Was told I was maximum medical improvement and told to take NSAIDs. Received 2nd opinion and now having surgery again fir nerve damage

The entire visit felt rushed. He spoke so fast that I could barely understand what he was telling me and it was like I was an inconvenience to him. I would not recommend him to anyone looking for a worthwhile visit or consultation.

He is one of the best doctors. You only wait for 5-10 minutes to go in and he explains everythibg to you!

He is excellent both in manners and diagnosis. His office staffs are very courteous and helpful. Great job doctor.

I am a critical care RN that has observed Dr. Moinfar in the surgical/recovery dept and find him to be considerate ,thorough, and his work excellant. His patients are well prepared properly for their surgery and do very well. Even among the staff ,he has drawn many nurses and their families for his care. If a nurse says he is good--then he is good!
