Dr. Amir Hossein Shokrae

Dr. Shokrae is a nice guy. The staff is a joke. I was surprised someone answered the phone when I called because usually they just dont answer.The girl who answered the phone just sounded like she did not want to be at work. This has been the same MO for years. Its somewhat amusing! Dr. Shockrae if you read this, get rid of your rude staff. We call you for help and guidance. We call you because we have loved ones that are sick. We call you because you are a doctor that we look to for care.

Dr. Shokrae was the affiliate nurse on duty the weekend we were at St. Joseph Hospital. He was in the room for a matter of seconds. He also failed to introduce himself which would have made us all more comfortable since he was wearing a graphic tshirt under his lab coat and had a very unprofessional demeanor. We had no idea he was even the neurology doctor until the RN told us! His assessment was quick but did not include any of the test results (he was in charge of reading the MRI results), he simply started discussing discharge plans which included a 3 hour a day work out plan for my mother (who had just had a stroke and was unable to move the left side of her body). The experience was confusing, frustrating, and very distressing.

Please do not allow this doctor to care for your family member. He visited us twice and never bothered to identify himself or address anyone in the room except the patient. Mind you this was a stroke patient who couldn’t speak or move, and he still would not address us with the details (we have power or attorney). Additionally he spent a maximum of 2 minutes each time he came, spat out a couple words, and then promptly left. He never went over any of the radiology or lab tests and refused to state that he could not figure out what was wrong. We completely understand that not everything can have a medical explanation, but we would appreciate more honesty if you don’t know what’s wrong. On the second day, he indicated he wanted to discharge the patient and have her go to the gym for 3 hours a day to rehabilitate (again she still couldn’t walk), so I’m not sure what guided him in that thinking. Overall we were glad to be rid of him and move on to the internist and PT specialist.

He is an incompetent filthy dog.

My name is Dave and I been going to dr. Shokrea for 2 yearn now. He is super professional, knowledgeable, understanding, and just an all around good human. I recommend him to anyone.. The front office staff is as good as it gets x 100. All the woman are sweet, caring, hard working, and are the backbone of the office. Just wanted to leave this review cause the deserve to be recognized.

He was able to diagnose quickly what other doctors could not. Very personable. Dr. SHokrae went above and beyond for me. Snd that means alot

You can tell a bit about your quality of medical care during experiences with office staff. The reputation of the greatest doctor in the world can be damaged by discourteous and inefficient performance by both front and back office workers. Patients may seek other providers for medical treatment when they are personally treated as an inconvenience. Also, my privacy was violated by front office announcing, through an open window to the lobby, what treatment I was there for, and also asked for my phone number- which should be evident in patient files, or quietly verified. Very unpleasant experience-- for now the second time- this after being a patient for many years. The doctor is pleasant and efficient, though not necessarily concerned about neurodegenerative disease at the root of symptoms treated quarterly.

Good guy

I am not going to waste a lot of time blathering about what a great man he is. He saved my life. He is one of the best Doctors that I have ever encountered. he is brilliant in medicine and can translate normal speak into what's wrong with you. If you have a choice of neurologists to see, look no further. He is top notch. His staff are polite, professional and nice and will bend over backwards to help you out. He is ranked as one of the top Neurologists in the nation. Enough said.

Does not care, and is a pure waste of your time and money.
