Dr. Amish Rajendra Patel, DO

I went last year after breaking a vertabre in my L4. Patel told me that there was no way of fixing it . My next appt was with assistant she told me they could do the surgery . After I told her Patel said they couldn't she retracted. Was sent for MRI and also found disc protrusion and hernitaed disc on either side of fracture . Was sent for brace. Brace did not help with the other things only supported the back but very uncomfortable seeing it was given 3 months after fracture . Last time I had went they talked about injections but then said one injection would help one thing but not the other . Sent to a nerosurgeon . Nerosurgeon said I needed kyoplasty which is what Patel said from the get go couldn't be done . In this time I had started seeing another specialist who was wanting to schedule me for a discotmy (sp?) . I let him know a nerosurgeon wanted to do they kyoplasty. He informed me it should have been done the first 30 days . The only way to tell if they could even know if it… was able to be done is to have another mri. Nerosurgeon was just going to do an x ray . I am going on 5 months . I have put in nearly 50 lbs and can barley get from point a to b . I am 35 years old with oteprosis that wasn't even found by Patel but a family dr. I get no pain meds . It's just frustrating.

I live in Urbana and I can just tell you this if you can find another pain management specialist do it! You'll thank me later.

Dr Patel has patiently worked to relieve the pain I have had from serious injuries, due to turbulence. I could never find a more compassionate, Pain specialist! May the Lord continue to bless this Dr with such a great gift...

They take time to listen . Everyone does thier very best . You’re questions are always answered . You are given reminders of appointments . If you have a procedure all you’re questions are answered . Thank you very much

As I read the reviews here. My experience mirrors many of the ones here. The treatment reguarding attitude towards me was immediately hateful and as one person described "Autocratic" I would suggest seeking a different Dr.

I started seeing Dr Patel in May of 2017. He did my injections on May 19, 2017, on my return visit he listened to me and we went from there to diagnostic injection in June and July. I just had the nerves burned on Sept 15, 2017. I have had no sedation with any of these at my request. He talked me through ever step of all these things. He understands that I know pain medication will not stop my pain and I don't want to take it. I feel he's been very caring and listens to what I have to say. He knows that I know my own body and have been through a lot! I would recommend him to everyone who needs help!

Just wants to make money. He is a sociopath with a degree.

All I can say he is the real deal. I had a 2 level fusion with good pain relief then was in a car accident and required a 3rd level fused. Sill had severe and then had a stimulator put in which did not help. Then I was referred to Dr. Patel through a friend. He told me my pain was coming from above and below the fusion. I had an RFA that completely cured my upper pain and a steroid into my si joint which helped my lower pain a lot. This is amazing to not be in severe pain. I am off my pain patches.

I had low back and a later a three level fusion. Had a spinal cord stimulator placement with minimal relief. Was referred to Dr. Patel an he recommended RFA above my surgery site. 3 months and pain free. Dr. Patel is the best. I am so happy. See this man if you have a legitmate problem!
