Dr. Amna Sabeen Yaqoob, MD

Doctor almost constantly on leave for 2 years. Ignores emails about refills or medical issues. Literally drops the ball on critical prescriptions. Just ignores you. Seems to want to be as far away from you as she can be when you are in the room. Medicine doesn't have to be a calling, but you have to at least show up.

She is extremely intelligent and does not aim to please the patient. Truly caring individual- exceptional primary care doc. Thank you

She totally ignored me and flirted with my husband!! She was extremely dismissive and did not act professional at all. It did not seem as if she knew much about medicine/health at all.

Often rebuffs inquiries as though you’re questioning her judgement and expertise. Gets annoyed and edgy. Misses problems that surface or could surface in blood tests. Too quick to make a referral instead focusing on the issue herself. She can be genuinely likable and caring but she seems scattered.

Every concern is dismissed and she refuses to do anything extra in terms of patient care. She sits on her computer and answers the questions. NYU Langone Health should be embarrassed to have her as Doctor. Even her assistant is short, rude, and speaks down to you. I received highly abnormal blood results and have been calling the office for three days with no answers. I also brought up the fact that I have been getting constant migraines almost daily for the past three weeks and she brushed it off saying it is probably allergies...I feel like I'm being punked when I walk into that office.

Dr. Yaqoob was very dismissive of my needs and the reason for my visit. She scoffed and laughed when I told her what I thought and made me feel as if I were an idiot. Do not see her. She will treat you as if you are a peasant asking for a chance to speak with the royals.

Not all doctors will "click" with their patients, and after several visits with Dr. Yaqoob over the past year I must say we are not suited to each other. She takes no interest in my concerns, and recently when I appealed to her via e-mail for help with a problem, I was ignored. She interrupts me when I'm talking, gives evasive, unhelpful answers to my questions, orders a few blood tests, refers me to specialists instead of investigating for herself what's troubling me, and generally seems to want me out of her office. And out of her office I shall go.

Can be very personable, interested and warm. Seems to know her stuff. She can also be very curt, cold and seemingly inattentive. It’s unnerving. She works only 3 days a week at NYU, hardly ideal for her patients and perhaps an expression of low interest.

I am so blessed have Dr. Yaqoob as my PCP, She is kind, compassionate, and knowlegable. And explains what she is doing and why

I live and work in NYC. I understand if someone is running late, but 40 mins to a doctor appointment, the first one in the morning, is a bit of a stretch. My 2 issues from this were 1. Dr Yaqoob did not even apologize to me about the delay and 2. made me feel rushed throughout the appointment. Her bedside manners were lackluster as she seemed annoyed and curt with me about things. I don't plan on going back. The rest of the office and staff is very friendly and helpful!
