Dr. Amro Ahmed Reda Sheta, MD

He took over my PCs practice. After my first visit, he cut off all communication. His office staff would not pass on messages to him. He doesn’t respond to messages on MyChart. Appointments are made but when we show up, the office is closed and no one answers the phone. He’s basically ghosting his patients while they lay at home and suffer. Avoid this guy like the plague.

This doctor told me the flu shot does nothing to shorten or prevent the course of the flu, when the CDC explicitly that it does. He also questioned why I was given Tamiflu but did not take an accurate history despite knowing that I suffer from a chronic immune disease which often requires patients such as myself to be on chronic steroids. I also have a past medical history of asthma, and live in a home where 2 separate people tested positive for Influenza A in the past 2 days at the facility he was working at. This is why I was given Tamiflu, as there are guidelines for prophylaxis. He was stand-offish the entire visit, very rough on physical exam pushing extremely hard when evaluating for sinus tenderness despite the fact that I said again and again that it hurt. When I asked if he could write me a basic note simply stating I was ill, as he had "no proof that I had the flu" because he didn't run a flu test despite having a fever, being tachycardic, and on physical exam admitting he… heard crackles in my lungs, and signs of sore throat. I explained that I never wanted him to say that I had the flu, which I was surprised he was insistent he had to do in order to write a note as HIPPA protects patients from having to disclose what illness they were seen for at a health care providers facility. I explained to him that I work in the OR, and did not want to get anyone sick let alone someone undergoing surgery. He was unfazed by this. Finally, he asked many irrelevant personal questions about my family members who are physicians rather than focusing on evaluating me as a patient. I am not sure what his logic was, but being in the field of medicine myself, I was very disappointed in the care I received. He did not take an accurate history, follow CDC guidelines, or provide accurate information to me as a patient. The worst part of the encounter sadly wasn't even the poor care, but the terrible bedside manner. I have yet to come across a more arrogant, rude, unhelpful, misinformed doctor. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a physician either myself or via observation with family, friends, and educational experiences. I would never recommend to anyone to be his patient.
