Dr. Amy (meg) M. Autry, MD

I have been going to Dr. Autry for years. She knows her stuff and makes me feel comfortable.

Fact: She gave me an endometrial biopsy without sedation or local anesthesia.Fact: She insists that if you have PCOS there are two options: hormones or cancer.Fact: She doesn't like it if you know big words like "amenorrhea" and never used the word "endometrial biopsy" even when she was giving me one.Fact: It hurt exactly like an abortion.Fact: I never saw an informed consent form for this invasive procedure.Fact: I didn't know you're not supposed to have sex after this procedure until I saw that on the internet while reading up on endometrial BX to see if she was lying or not (fortunately, I hadn't because it hurts like all getout) which is the sort of thing they should REALLY tell you.Fact: She is really scary and gets up in your face and yells if you try to explain to her that you have a medical history involving severe complications whenever you've had hormones in the past and says that they're different from birth control which they are actually NOT--every single drug she tried to… put me on is ALSO used for BC, which I am not allowed to have because I had severe psychiatric symptoms.Fact: She uses phrases like "oh, I know you don't like to take X" when she has been told that taking X has caused you to have a psychotic break. I don't like to eat raw broccoli, listen to meandery jazz or ride overcrowded buses. These are the kinds of things for which "don't like" is an acceptable terminology. Things that will actually hurt you that you fear for good reason should not be described as things you just "don't like".Fact: She told me I was not a candidate for either watchful waiting or hysterectomy which my regular GYN says is a lie.Fact: I ended up seeing this doc because my regular doc was busy and she always has open slots on her schedule. HMM WONDER WHY?Fact: Before doing a painful invasive procedure on me after yelling at me while I was up in stirrups, and which she had not bothered to properly explain, she did not bother to think or ask if I'd ever been sexually assaulted and might be triggered by this experience or ask if I wanted a nurse to be present.Fact: She got offended when I swore under my breath because it hurt when she was scraping the inside of my uterus with a knife.AVOID AVOID AVOID. DANGER WILL ROBINSON.

I have been going to Dr. Autry for years now. She makes me feel comfortable and takes time to answer my questions. She will remind me that my next pap and mamogram test are coming up.I told her about my mom passing away 11 years ago from Overian Cancer. She makes sure to have my ovaries checked, as well as a pap. The staff there is very polite and helpful. I would reccomend Dr. Autry if you want the best care.
