Dr. Amy Caroline Baldwin, MD

As a first time mom, you can imagine how awful I felt when I took my newborn in for a visit and after an hour of waiting in a large waiting room that barely has any separation from sick patients, had a very quick and incomplete checkup which only resulted with frustration. The staff did the most work which consisted of taking height and weight and ended up having to be done twice because they did it wrong. I could hear the staff being lectured on the proper way to weigh a newborn outside of our room. Shortly after they entered our room and asked us to bring out our baby to get weighed and measured again. When we questioned the difference in the hospitals h/w numbers with theirs, the response was "the nurses at the hospitals almost always get it wrong with everything going on". But somehow I'm supposed to trust a MA that needed to do it twice? As for Dr. Baldwin, she didn't do a full physical check, only moved his legs and took a quick look at him then said "he's a skinny guy" went on… writing her notes while saying it was a concern and she would not even be able to to lab work on him because of it, then said to come back in a week to see if he had made any weight gain. She was quickly out the door. We were offered no advice or information on what we could do to for our little guy. I changed doctors and saw what a huge difference a doctor that cares can make. My new doctor did a very thorough checkup and explained to us (after us questioning it) that weight loss is normal for newborns and that it shouldn't be a concern. He was never under at the 5th percentile so he shouldn't have been called skinny, not that any doctor should say that about ANY patient. He shortly went right back up and passed his newborn weight so all this worry was for nothing. We never went back to this doctor and they never called for a follow up. Maybe because the staff didn't bother to make sure we even scheduled the follow up visit and just let us walk out without questioning. Not to mention the office looks very outdated and unwelcoming. The patient rooms had pocket shelves which only contained reminder cards to restock. I will say that this doctor was recommended to me by my obgyn which I absolutely trust. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, but I'd expect better care and compassion for a newborn and better service, information, and support for first time parents.

Dr. Baldwin was professional and kind to my newborn. She performed his circumcision and it healed well and is cosmetically well done. She explained the measures she goes to to make it less painful. The staff is not very friendly; they seem stressed and preoccupied. I wouldn't say they were rude. This office obviously handles a lot of patients and maybe that is why it seems like a high stress office and the wait times can be long. With children though--who would want to be told to wait 2 days to bring in your ill child because there simply isn't time for your child to be seen? And when the clientele is children, wouldn't you expect caregivers to have a less then stellar record at getting there on time with kids in tow?

Very rude staff,unprofessional rude doctor my overall waiting time was ridiculous,when I finally saw the doctor she looked over my son for about 5mins then left.I will never be taking my son there again!

Every time we come to this office it takes at least an hour to see the doctor. When we ask the ladies at te desk, they ALWAYS say we are next to be called. I doubt i could get an accurate or an honest answer from this staff. When we see the doctor, its too brief. I dont feel like i can ask questions about my newborn daughter. My question is: Why schedule me for an appointment if i cant be attended?!?! Why waste my time?!?!
