Terriable! Being a first time mom I didn’t know what was normal while pregnant or not. I had constant high blood pressure and felt like my baby was small throughout my pregnancy and was told I was fine. Fast forward to 38 weeks when I couldn’t breathe and had a blood pressure of 175 I was induced and had an emergency c section to a growth restricted 5lb baby all due preeclampsia. After I gave birth baby and I both almost died due to complications of preeclampsia. Any never once talked to me about possibly having it nor did she catch that I had it my whole pregnancy. Go to someone else!

Dr is great but she is also extremely busy so--depending on the time of year or call schedule or whatever, sometimes she just doesn't have time to talk you through whatever crazy pregnancy questions you have. That said, from everyone I know, she makes a great effort to be at her deliveries and really shines in that moment. The phone nurse is r.o.u.g.h. they can be mean and rude. The ultrasonographer at their practice is THE sweetest, nicest woman of all time.

While Dr. Carter is extremely knowledgable, her bed-side manner could use a lot of work. She's a pretty cold, sterile, and even a bit pessimistic about things. She also seems to push towards medicine and procedures even when the patient isn't looking for that. If you're looking for a doctor with a little bit of warmth and sincerity, then look else where. Also, if you call with any questions, you will constantly play the "telephone game" between her and one of her nurses which is very tedious. And the nurse that usually calls you back will say nothing more and nothing less than exactly what Dr. Carter told her, so forget about asking that nurse a single follow-up question that she might have knowledge of since she IS a nurse after all. It's like conversing with an answering machine. It's extremely frustrating.

I absolutely love dr. Carter!!! I recommend her to any and everyone. She made sure I was doing well physically & emotionally during and after my pregnancy. She made me feel at ease even when my water broke in her office during a routine visit! Lol I couldn't have done it without her! Wouldn't have wanted anyone else to deliver my baby for me! :) I completely trust her and her decisions. She is smart, kind, and really listens to your concerns. This was my first pregnancy and because of her it was a wonderful experience. I will definitely use her for future deliveries!!! :) she really is the best of the best!!!!

Would travel just for her to deliver again!

I switched to Carter after moving and needing someone closer to North KC, and it was the best switch I ever made! I love that she sits down and gets to know you before your intial exam as someone explained in a previous review. I am currently 38 weeks pregnant with my first, and she has been absolutely amazing. She remembered my husband's name after they met once at our first prenatal appt, which is awesome since you develop such a close relationship seeing her so much over the 9 months. She is warm, down to earth, genuine and will give you as much of her time as you need! I just can't say enough wonderful things about her!

Dr. Carter and the other doctors in the office have been wonderful to me. They have diagnosed and helped me with several health concerns over the years, and not just related to OB/GYN. I've had more help from that office than any other doctor office I've been too. Wonderful staff and office that cares about their patients. I've recommended to friends and they have also helped them where other doctors had said there was nothing that could be done to help them.

She is the best!!! I have been going to Dr. Carter for almost 5 years. I wouldn't go to any other in KC.

I would most definitely recommend Dr. Carter to anyone looking for a thoughtful, caring, well-rounded OB/Gyn. She doesn't just care about what is going on with your OB/Gyn issues, she cares about you as an entire person and asks lots of questions to get a better feel for you and what sort of problems you could be having. She is very reassuring and understanding. She is not only the best OB/Gyn I've ever had, but absolutely the best all around doctor. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Carter is amazing. If I ever have anyone in my life (whether it be neighbor, best girl friend, client, etc.) who tells me they are looking for a good OB-GYN, I immediately recommend Dr. Carter.Before your initial appointment, she will meet with you in her office, ask you questions, get to know you and then you move over to the examination room. Dr. Carter is always extremely conscientious, sensitive to your needs and is very easy to talk to. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor.
