Dr. Amy Carol Forren, DO

She’s not thorough. She prescribed wrong medicines that conflicted with others. Not a fan.

I started going to Dr. Forren about 3 years ago. At first I liked her and thought I had found me a life time Dr... WRONG!! After my second, third visit all she wants to do it tell you everything your doing wrong in your own personal lifestyle and send you to a different Dr. She has no physician skills. I remember about a year ago I was sitting in her waiting room office waiting to be seen by her and a older gentleman was sitting across from me. His wife was in seeing Dr. Forren . He asked me what I thought of Dr. Forren and I said so far so good. He said to me, well you haven't went far enough with her then, I don't like her and I am trying to get my wife to change doctors. He also said, the only thing good about her is she is close to town.. At this point I agree. I have made up my mind, I will never go back.

I thought I made a good choice choosing dr Forren. I was wrong. She never listened to me. And basically looked over anything I said I felt was wrong with me. She denied giving me proper meds for my ADHD that I needed for school, and if me not having my meds doesn't prove anything maybe my lowest grades being this past semester will. Then bc I missed 2 appointments seeing how I just had my son she sends me a letter stating she's no longer my doctor.

I was sent to this dr to get a referral to the pain clinic for pain in my ankles. She referred me to 4 other drs who wanted to jab needles into my ankles and/or just wanted to make money off my insurance by repeating the same tests the previous dr did and then didnt want to actually help with the pain. Its been almost a year of getting the run around After all this I never got relief or the actual referral I went to her to get.

If you are looking for a Dr. in the Goose Creek/Summerville area, than look no furthe. It's refreshing to have a caregiver who actually CARES!

Dr. Forren reminds me of the old-fashioned family doctor that has vanished from the field. Dr. Forren's skill is matched by her wonderful caring manner. She has treated me for numerous conditions over the last few months and I trust her judgement a thousand percent.In addition the office staff is the greatest-working me in without an appointment on busy days when I was in difficulty. If anyone reading this review is seeking to find an excellent doctor in the Summerville and Goose Creek area, look no further than this provider-you will be glad you chose her for your doctor.

Another family member and I have been patients of Dr. Forren for over a year. I have had a few issues which Dr. Forren correctly addressed. She genuinely cares about her patients and I hope she will be treating us for many years to come. In addition, her office staff is friendly, helpful and eager to accommodate I believe that Dr. Forren should be the ideal to which others in her profession should strive for.

Dr. Forren is by far one of the best doctors I have had in my 54 years. She is caring and engaging. She explains things well. She never seems to be in a hurry with me. She accurately diagnosed me with a condition needing a referral to a specialist without delay. The specialist his head of a program at MUSC and complimented her for her choice of medications for my condition. I trust her with my life an well-being.

This office is the worst office I've ever had to deal with. They are the worst at making appts. with referrals,takes weeks and many phone calls to get just a date for your appt.If you call for a request it can take a week/longer to get what you need, they have the worst attitudes in the office, not very friendly and the Doctor takes about 5 minutes with the patient and it not very thorough..Definately would not recommend to anyone !!!

I was thoroughly disgusted with my experience. I really thought I had made a good choice in Dr. Forren. I made a HUGE mistake. First, I waited 45 minutes PAST my appointment time with her. Before I saw her, the nurse took an EKG. She put the leads on the wrong spots, then went back & "fixed" them. When the Dr. came in, she told me I had a serious heart problem, & needed a nuclear medicine stress test. She further told me I needed a cardiologist fast, & her office could get me an appointment quicker than I could. She then told me my blood pressure & blood sugar were too high (hmmm, I wonder why?). She then advised me against a planned surgery, telling me I may not pull through.Her attitude the whole time wasn't very caring, just dry & matter of fact. Needless to say, I was scared. I went to Dr's care right away & they did an EKG which was fine, BP was still a little high of course. They found nothing of concern & saw no reason to postpone surgery. They gave me a prescription to have a… repeat EKG at Roper Hospital in a few days, which I did. It was fine. I had the surgery with no problems. UNBELIEVABLY they called me 1 MONTH after my surgery to set me up to see a cardiologist. THAT's getting someone with a "serious heart problem" in faster??? I paid $25 to Dr. Forren, $25 to Dr's care & $25 for the EKG at Roper. She caused me to worry for 4 days & spend $50 more than I should. I would tell anyone to go to Dr's care in Summerville & not Dr. Forren. Her practice is the worst I've ever been to!
