Dr. Amy, CFO and co-owner of Huthwaite Family Dentistry, graduated from Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1994.  She was inspired to become a dentist when her mother was diagnosed with oral cancer during Amy's first year of college.  She took time off from college to help care for her mother during the grueling months of surgeries and radiation treatments.  Although the prognosis was not good, her mother survived.  Twenty years later, Dr. Amy is proud to have her mom as a true success story: cancer free with a beautiful smile!  Dr. Amy pledges to treat each and every patient as she would want herself or a member of her family to be treated.
Dr. Amy is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the Hinman Dental Society, and the Northern District Dental …Society.  She volunteers regularly at the Green Warren Dental Clinic associated with Good News at Noon.  She has been a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club for which she has chaired several committees and has served four years as board member.  Dr. Amy also served on the Board of Trustees of Brenau University.
Originally from Wilmington, N.C., Dr. Amy now lives in Dawsonville, Ga. with her two daughters, Addison and Cosette.  She also has a dog named Elmo and cats Elvis and Sesame.  Dr. Amy is an avid reader and enjoys cooking, sewing, camping, and jogging.  Her favorite thing to do however is to spend time spoiling her daughters with love and laughter!
