Dr. Amy Dawn James, PhD

Dr James was assigned by the court to give an evaluation of a family member of mine. It was related to a custody case. She violated ethical guidelines by bringing in the other party in the case for input. Based on this input , she came up with the diagnosis of s personality disorder. I’ve studied psychology and it was so off that she seemed to be describing someone else. Not even the basic, broad outlines of the disorder apply. Several years fbyhr things she out in her report were unprofessional and a little bizarre. She was also very deceptive and pretended to be friendly while she was preparing a character assassination. The fate of families should not be in this woman’s hands.

ZERO STARS!!! Donâ??t waste your time or money with Amy. I hired her to do a comprehensive psychological evaluation for my 25 year old son with severe mental illness. What I got was a $1200.00 incomplete evaluation with typos she didnâ??t even run spell check. I feel like I have been scammed.

Dr. James is the most patient, knowledgable, and caring provider I've found in eastern NC. It is evident from the first encounter, she is top-notch. My child has received the best care!
