Dr. Amy Kathryn Steinhoff, MD

This doctor is literally a "cut" above all the rest. All aspects of my experience have been perfect. I had a hip replaced and now my knee. Bothe went witout any complications. Almost NO swelling or discoloration. My recovery time for both has been minimal. This doctor really is in a league all her own!!

Had a revision total hip replacement Sept. 2018. She is experienced, knowledgeable, and great with patients. Willing to explain all the ins and outs of the surgery. I'm out of surgery 3 days and walking with a cane; first time I've been mostly pain free in 7 months. Followup from Kaiser staff has been excellent as well. Even the anesthesiologist, Dr. Eng, was great!

Dr. Amy Steinhoff is amazing! She performed double hip replacement surgery on me and my recovery has gone smoothly. I find her to be compassionate, patient and thorough. I would highly recommend her to others without hesitation! Dr. Steinhoff is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. I am so grateful for her!

I felt that Dr. Steinhoff's demeanor was a bit distant and stand-offish. When I expressed my fear and sadness of my diagnosis, and apprehension for the subsequent treatments, she seemed to lack empathy. Her eyes looked bored. Her tone lacked compassion. She seemed in somewhat of a hurry, to get our time together over with. I have never had her perform surgery on me, so I don't know how capable she is, but based on our 3-4 other appointments and treatment session, I would not request her services.

I am no expert in the field of hip replacement, but I have been suffering from hip/leg muscle pain for years. I finally saw a Kaiser doctor for possible hip replacement surgery. Finding out there was a long waiting list, they told me to consult with Dr Steinhoff. I liked her right away. I am now 3 months out of surgery and my hip pain is GONE. There were ZERO complications. Thanks to Dr Steinhoff I am pain free and walking miles everyday. If a Kaiser member in SD, look no furter for a pro.
