Dr. Amy Varner, MD

I have tried for over a month to have Dr Varner contact me about a test result, and she has not contacted me. I have a high protein level in my urine. I want a doctor that takes the time to listen to me and let me ask questions. Looking for another primary care physician.

My first visit I was impressed with Dr.Varner, she took her time to explain everything and also gave me a list of all kinds of specialists to help me out as I had just relocated to GA. However, the front office staff is very rude and unprofessional, unfortunately you have to go through them to make an appointment or to check out. I over looked The disrespect on my first visit but got the same attitude on my second visit as well as my 3rd phone appointment, not to mention that my 2nd appointment date was scheduled wrong in their system and I had to go back home and come back the next morning. I will not be going back!

So glad I signed up with Dr. Varner for Primary Physician - she is personable, gets to the point of problem , willing to make recommendations regarding healthy lifestyle. It has been easy to get an appointment and the office seems organized and courteous.

Ok first of all if you're booking a doctor's appointment based on internet reviews there are some problems... However, I am surprised by the reviews of Dr. Varner's staff. They've always been incredibly warm, caring, courtesy and even "chatty" (in a complementary way) when I've visited the office. The front desk group can be a little abrupt but hey they have a tight ship to run. However, the nurses who intake you are fabulous. Finally, Dr. Varner herself takes time to listen to your concerns never makes you feel stupid for worrying about little things. I would highly recommend her.

Uncaring office. Office manager never returned calls. If you have questions or concerns you are considered a problem. Dr. Varner seems very uncaring--- like you could drop dead in front of her and she would simply step over your body and move on to the next patient. She also looks unkempt and unprofessional. Unless you enjoy being treated like a walking wallet, avoid this practice.

Choose some one else instead. You dont deserve the treatment you get from her assistants. Her staff is very very rude. You dont want to go there, pay money and get insulted by her staff.. do you? I would not recommend her to anyone else. She, her assistant and staff need yours and your insurance money. They dont care about you. PERIOD.

I would not recommend Dr. Varner or this practice to anyone. I initially saw her after a highly recommended referral from a friend, and was not too impressed. The staff was very rude and acted like they hated working there and doing their job. My first contact with the staff was a nurse that was filling in for Dr. Varner's nurse and after she called my name she said, "Get on the scales!" Not "please", "hello" or even "welcome." My pharmacist, who also uses this practice, commented to me that the office staff was so rude. I had an appointment for a physical with Dr. Varner for my second visit. I had to fast and hire a babysitter to keep my child. I got lost trying to get to the appointment which was at 7:45 a.m. (It is very easy to get turned around in this medical complex area near Northside because of all the medical buildings and parking garages.) I called the office to get directions, and the after hours operator answered and told me that I would have to wait until 8:00… a.m. to call. I called at 8:00 a.m. and explained the situation. The office assistant informed me that Dr. Varner would not see me because I was late. She offered to reschedule my appointment to which I replied, "No thank you. I'll find a new doctor." We spend hours of our lives waiting on doctors, and honestly I do not think that I need a doctor who could not evaluate personal circumstances and adjust her "rules." At the very least they could have let me attend the visit and complete my blood work. If you choose this practice, go at your own risk!

I changed insurance companies and was force to also change my physician. I ramdomly selected Dr. Varner and when I met her I was completely comfortable. She's very personable and pleasant. I'm not sure where she's from originally but seems like a good southern girl with a passion for her patients. I'm very pleased.

I met Dr. Varner on a cold-call; and man, was I ever glad. She is really one of the nicest, sweetest & most caring persons, let alone a Doctor that I know. She is an exceptional doctor, who genuinely cares about her patients, and treats them like they were her family. Can not recommend her more
