Long story short. Similar stories you see elsewhere and here about the temper issue. How did I find this out after 5 years about of being her patient? I had a bad day with my bipolar and was crying on the phone. This further seemed to enrage her and I just hung up. She called me back, I answered. She immediately hung up! I requested a new psych and was finally assigned but not seeing them til 2021. Today I gained access to my patient records including her notes. She pretty much made me sound like the biggest piece of garbage that session. Now here's where it gets BAD. In the notes she accuses me of spending my money on "THC gummies". I DONT USE ANY DRUGS. I've began the process of filing a complaint to clean my record of that, and requested a drug test through my new doctor as evidence since this will be real she said/she said. Somehow the request goes through HER and she's calling demanding why I want a drug test. I confront her and read back her notes. She talks in… circles about it and ultimately gives no explanation why she put that in my records. She does at least allegedly order a urine test. I go back in my online records and there is an updated document about that call, in her notes she says I said something I did not say at all and makes no sense. Will update if something comes of this.

Wasn't even thinking of writing comment until read comments of two others here who reported exact same experience I had way back in 2008, while she was in private group practice. Dunno what happened there but sad she wound up with our vulnerable veterans. Saw her for work-related stress. Thought her kind, empathetic, smart, helpful. Grew to trust her. During a routine session about two months into our "relationship" and literally in the middle of a sentence, she stood up and angrily dismissed me. At the time I was relaxed, much happier, more confident. In short, far from the slobbering mess she had initially encountered. I saved my tears for the car, and of course, blamed myself for years, wondering what i had done. Thanks to whomever took the time to share their experiences here and to the strange set of circumstances that led me to this site so many years later and allowed me to relieve myself of this burden. God? I think so.

Dr. Gutierrez will spend enough time with you, will ask questions, and gives the appearance of being a competent physician. However, she can be heavy on prescribing medications and then treating side effects with more medications. She asks for your input, but your questions and opinions about your condition don't mean a thing. Agree with her, don't question a word or you'll be looking for a new doctor, anyway. She takes any hesitation or questioning as defiance. You'll see her temper. It shocked me to the core. I've never seen a doctor respond in way. Unprofessional. Kind of scary to remember how she acted to someone seeking her HELP. Please consider another doctor.

I usually don't write reviews, but I feel the mind/emotion/body is too important. Dr. Guiterrez started me on prescription medication. I trusted her to give me the correct dose, etc... The pharmacist was the one who questioned why she gave me different mg dosage in different months. I just assumed she knew what she was doing. I took the sheet to her and told her I wished to lower my dosage again as she had before. She was outraged. I am sorry, but for all the months she worked with me and she destroyed all of that in one swift moment. She called me a masochist for even considering it. When I pointed the changes in mg she gave to me she just told me I needed to leave and make an appointment for another time. I ended up crying, and I paid for the appointment as well. I am sorry, but no Doctor should say something such as this to a patient. With all the negative connotations this word has. I never did go back. Sincerely, a former patient
