Dr. Anahat Kaur Sandhu, MD

It is hard for me to find a doctor that I respect as much as I do Dr. Sandhu. She delivered my first child and soon will be delivering my second. I do not have easy pregnancies, but she got me through the most difficult months of my life and if it wasn't for her, I would have to say that I do not know if my first child would be here. That is not to say that I wasn't frustrated with how micro managed I felt at times, but in hindsight, I am more than thankful that she did that. I am not the type of person that would give someone 5 stars normally, but Dr. Sandhu really does go above and beyond to figure out what is best for her patient (and in my case my child too).

I'm new to the area and expecting my first child. It was such a relief to find Dr. Sandhu! She's very informative, patient and makes you feel very comfortable.

Dr. Sandhu is amazingly professional and kind. At our first meeting, she spent the time to get to know me. She probably could had seen another patient in the extra time she spent with me and the fact that she chose instead to make sure to get to know one another meat a lot.

Throughout my life, I have always seen male gynecologists. Over the past 23 years, I have made my way through 4 doctors due to retirment. In June, I was diagnosed with a dermoid cyst on my ovary. Although it wasn't anything to be concerned over, was told that this should be monitored. In three months, the cyst grew 1.5 cm and it was recommended that I have this removed. I was referred to an oncologist gynecologist who specialized in these types of procedures and was told that the ovary should be removed and while doing the surgery, recommended that both ovaries should be removed since they won't be functioning in a year anyway. The side effects would mean full blown menopause and I wasn't sure if that was the direction I wanted to take. I decided to get a second opinion and met with Dr. Sandhu. She sat me down and began to explain the outcome of the sonogram that was taken. My doctor never broke it down the way Dr. Sandhu did which I truly appreciated and when asked her… opinion on the removal of a perfectly good ovary, she said there was no need since the risk would be so minimal considering the time I have been on birth control pills; something my current doctor never shared. She then began to describe robotic surgery which is a less invasive laproscopic procedure. As a woman, she understands that mothers, spouses, working women, don't have the luxary to be out for a long time and is one of the reasons she began practicing this procedure. As one of the first individuals to bring this to the bay area, I was very confident in her abilities. I must say, I am so impressed with Dr. Sandhu. After having surgery on a late Friday afternoon, I was out grocery shopping Sunday and began a 2 1/2 mile power walk Tuesday. For those of you women looking for a gynecologist, I highly recommend Dr. Sandhu.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sandhu for over a year and have never been so happy with a doctor. I recently experienced an emergency and her office listened patiently and quickly got me an immidiate appointment, even though it was almost the close of the day! Due to traffic I did not get to her office until after 5pm, but I got no attitude and she was very pleasant and patient. This was not a surprise as she is always very kind. From the moment she saw me she quickly realized I needed to be seen at the emergency room, called ahead to advise the ER room I was on my way and told them to call her as soon as they had test results. By 10 pm she was in my ER room preping me for surgery. I was most impressed by her calm demeanor as some of the ER docs were a little panicked at my condition. I was quickly put at ease by Dr. Sandhu and understood the surgery was needed. I was so happy it was my very own doctor doing the surgery! My friend that met me at the ER room was so impressed she made… sure to tell me "tell your amazing Dr. I said HI!" Dr. Sandhu followed up with me within days and her post op follow up has been nothing less than amazing. I have had more than 6 OBGYNs and Dr. Sandhu is by far the most caring and professional.

I met Dr Sandhu while in the ER with an ectopic a couple years ago. I had already recieved the chemo treatment prior, but The ER doctor refused to send me home with anything more than vidicon for the excruciating pain I was in. In the hospital, I was getting a morphine drip which at least made the pain tolerable. The ER doc wanted to discharge me, saying he could not give me any other prescription. He was playing games, making me very frustrated. Eventually, Dr. Sandhu was called in, she validated my feelings as well as the pain I was experiencing, wrote me a prescription that completely sufficed, and offered her information and follow up care. She's been my favorite doctor since that horrible experience. Now that I'm having a baby, I'm relieved to already have a doctor I trust; one who I know is intelligent and compassionate.

Dr. Sandhu is the best doctor I have ever seen. She cares about her patients and makes sure you get the best health care. I would highly recommend her!

I don't like going to the doctor and this is the best experience I have ever had at an doctor's appointment. Dr. Sandhu also spent more time with me than I have ever experienced with another doctor and I didn't have to wait at all. I went for an annual pap smear. Dr. Sandhu spent a long time asking me about my family history. I was surprised that she asked about the health history of each of my grandparents. Besides seeming like a very competent doctor, Dr. Sandhu was very friendly and funny, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. Dr. Sandhu also spent a long time talking to me about avoiding STDs and also birth control options. Because she is so friendly, it almost felt like talking to a big sister who went to med. school. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sandhu to a friend who is looking for a good OB/GYN.

Dr. Sandhu is the best gynecologist I have ever been to. She is thorough, thoughtful and extremely caring. I would highly recommend her.
