Brought 7 yr old daughter to PM peds Feb 2. Ear was bothering her and couldn't hear well suddenly. RX'd Amoxicillin. 5 days later she was severely swollen in the face. I rushed her back in and was told it might be viral by another doctor. I left and when I returned home it crossed my mind that this could be related to the antibiotic she was on for the past 5 days. I called back and spoke to another doctor there who agreed that it was likely an allergic reaction to the medication. She said to stop it immediately , take zyrtec zyrtec and then call back for a new antibiotic if the ear was still bothering her in a weekish. So today, I called PM peds and was transfered to Dr. Andre Persaud. I explained the situation to him in full. He was rude & quick to say that he will NOT prescribe any medication over the phone. I said i understand that in most circumstances thats the policy. But in this I was told that the doctor would. He insisted that he is THE doctor and refused to help. What a… money grab. Looking for a more copays. BEWARE!
