Dr. Tamayo-Chelala is among the top PCP in the tri-county area. Besides his vast knowledge in the medical field and accurate diagnoses and treatment plans, Dr. Tamayo-Chelala is an excellent communicator and listener as well as conscientious and empathic. In addition, he is respectful, understanding, humble, and has a strong work ethic. He is passionate about the practice of medicine. He advocates for, works with, and listens to his patients. He provides the kind of care that makes a true difference in patients’ wellbeing. Other physicians should follow Dr. Tamayo-Chelala’s example to make the world a better place.

You would be hard-pressed to find a more caring competent doctor. When you are in the consultation room with Dr. Tamayo you never have the feeling that he is in a rush to see another patient. He dedicates his entire attention to the patient, asks great questions and offers his ideas. What a rare thing it is to find a physician who actually listens and values his patients. I have highly recommended Dr. Tamayo in the past and will happily continue to do so.

Dr. Tamayo-Chelala is a great listener and has always been successful in diagnosing and treating my medical issues. This is the reason why I travel two and a half hours to see this physician.

I told Dr. Tamayo that I was very concerned about the difficulty to get in touch with him through the telephone since I was urgently needing to talk to him a few weeks ago when I went to the Emergency at Mount Sinai after 2 days of calling and leaving messages with the office ph# until I finally decided to go to the emergency to get an "infusion " and I was made to wait hours there while trying to reach him, finally they reached another of my doctors which gave his approval . That is not an acceptable way to deal with a patient in my point of view. There NEEDS TO BE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THE TELEPHONE SYSTEM AT MOUNT SINAI BEFORE A TRAGEDY OCCURS.
