I had to go to my local clinic in my community, back in 2006, because I had no health insurance. . I did everything she instructed me to do, and never missed an appointment. I was diagnosed with Grave's Disease, and did my research on all the treatments, and told her I was only willing to try the medication. I told her I would also be using Homeopathic and Naturopathic methods as well. She said, and I quote, "All that Naturopathic crap has never been proven to work." One month after I started taking the medication, Methimazole, she did a liver panel, and when I went in to get the results, she chastised me, saying, "You've been drinking, look at your liver panel results!" I said, "No, I have not! You told me not to while on this medication. I am not stupid, I want to get better. If you had done your research on the medication, like I did, you would know that it compromises the liver function." The medication was helping, along with the holistic methods I was using, but then she over… medicated me and sent me into drastic Hypothyroidism. The normal range is 0.4 – 5.5. My TSH was 47.20. When I was diagnosed, my TSH was 0.004 (hyperthroidism). This caused me to go into a Diabetic state, and my Cholesterol skyrocketed. My Naturopath put me on a special Diabetic diet and within 3 weeks, my Blood Sugar and Cholesterol went back to normal. She also took me off the medication cold turkey, which is not the way you quit taking it. I researched and found out how to wean myself off the medication. She also put me on Prednizone to reduce the swelling in my eyes because the antibodies that attack the Thyroid had attacked my eyes, giving me TED (Thyroid Eye Disease, due to over medicating me. My eye doctor told me to stop taking it because it would not help me, it would make it worse. The final straw for me was when she told me I was getting worse, when my blood work actually showed slight improvement, after having to undo all the damage too much medication had done. She said, in a nasty tone, "You're getting worse. You're on the verge of going into Thyroid Storm, now will you go see an Endrocrinologist?" I said, "Do you think I would be coming here if I could afford an Endrocrinologist?" I was no where near going into Thyroid Storm, and I got a second opinion from another doctor, who happened to know Dr. Bower. I ended up firing her and just went to my Naturopath, exclusively, and through all natural methods, I healed myself of Grave's Disease. To this day, my TSH and T3 and T4 numbers are all normal. One of the things the doctor told me to do was to eliminate all Iodine from my diet, which I did, until my Naturopath told me, going by my blood work, that I needed to take 12.5mg of Iodine. As soon as I started taking the Iodine, I began to consistently started improving, without the medication, and healed myself. Go on the Board of Doctors website and look her up. Her license was suspended for a year, between 2005 and 2006, and why they allowed her to start practicing again is beyond me. She is a nightmare!

I had no choice to see her at the navy clinic as my PCM was booked. What a nightmare!!! She chastised me and treated me like a drug seeker, which I am not! I have never been more humiliated and she does not need to be practicing medicine. We seek out Physicians for help not for humiliation!
