I am a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Gulf War Era. My cases was remanded by the Board of Veterans Appeal (BVA) to the VA Regional Office (VARO) and a Compensation & Pension (C&P) Exam was administered to me by Dr Andrea Elkon. She stated that a thorough review of my records showed that there was no symptomology of mental health during my first period of service which was an outright lie in that I'd not only complained, but was also prescribed Norpramin which is specifically prescribed for anxiety and depression during my first period of service which was clearly documented in my records. Also prior to my discharge from Active Duty, I was hospitalized and prescribed Norpramin which connects my mental health symptomology throughout my first and second periods of service. Dr Elkon gave me a survey to take which has about 100 questions on it and explained that there were no right or wrong answers, yet turned around on the C&P examination notes and stated… vehemently that I outright lied & feigned overstating as well as exaggerating my symptoms. Based solely off her (C&P) report the VA Regional Office as well as the Board of Veterans Appeals denied my claim for Service Connection. However, I appealed the ruling made to the United States Court of Veterans Appeals (CACV) & 18 months later with assistance from a legal counsel, my claim was vacated and remanded again to the Board of Veterans Apppeals with special instructions to correct their errors as well as given 60 days to do so. Dr Elkon railroaded me on her Compensation & Pension report (C&P). She attempted to make me out to be a liar, yet my legal counsel found otherwise. I strongly advise that any Veteran keep fighting for their rights after serving their country and do not allow inviduals who hold PhD's in Psychology to screw them over like Dr. Andrea Elkon attempted to do me, this is a travesty and injustice and I'm singling her out specifically as being an unprofessional practitioner.
