Dr. Andrea Kassai, MD

I hadn't read the reviews before my appointments and I'm sorry I didn't. As noted by others, Dr Kassai is extremely arrogant/condescending and not at all interested in what the patient has to say. She doesn't include data that doesn't support her viewpoint - and won't consider other options even if you show her data to support your position. I'd avoid her at all costs.

She has been very responsive to my concerns regarding my diabetes and has been willing to aggressively pursue treatment. My only concern is that she is very booked up which makes it hard to have regular follow-up. My experience has been markedly different from the other raters as I have always found her to be very professional, easy to engage, and responsive to my needs. I have scheduled an interim appointment with one of the nurse practitioners there for closer follow-up.

She is completely incompetent. Does not review any documentation, labs, etc prior to your visit. Do not even think about suggesting anything, she will say “well you tell me you seem to be the expert”. She is dismissive, condescending, rude, and frankly very messy looking (hair, face, clothes all looked unkempt). The utmost in unprofessionalism. The office staff, clinic manager, even the valet person are all EXCEPTIONAL. A shame they have to work with a person who is so completely horrendous as a doctor and just a reprehensible human being. Do not go to her if you want a caring compassionate KNOWLEDGEABLE and professional doctor. You will not find any of that with her. She should lose her license.

I was referred to Dr. Kassai by my primary care Dr for suspicion of an insulinoma. On my first appt she took my history and symptoms. I asked for a MRI and her response was that too premature lets do some fasting tests. During the tests my sugars were responded just as suspected and when I asked about getting an MRI again I was still told no. When she called with my proinsulin levels 2 weeks later she told me she suspected I had a tumor but wasn’t sure. She wanted to send me to Washington to see. Dr. she studied under as she wasn’t aware of any good pancreatic surgeons in this area. Really??? Still she wouldn’t order any imaging to be done. I got off the phone with her and called my primary care and thanks to her she ordered the MRI and confirmed that I had a tumor on my pancreas. She got me into Mass General and surgery was completed to remove the tumor all within 3 weeks from me calling her. I got more from my primary care in a weeks time than I got in 4 months with Dr.… Kassai. Stay away from this Dr. unless you want unnecessary tests when all you symptoms are pointing to one thing that imaging proved!
