Dr. Andrea Mertz, MD

Dr. Andrea Mertz, MD, is a Texas native and moved to Colorado in 2013 after completing her residency in pediatrics in Cleveland, Ohio. As a pediatric specialist, Dr. Mertz addresses the physical, mental and social health of children from birth to young adulthood. She loves practicing medicine because the field blends working with people, building relationships, and using clinical skills to solve problems. Becoming a pediatrician was a perfect fit for Dr. Mertz, as she always wanted to work with kids and families. 'I love seeing patients of all ages, from newborns in the hospital to teenagers about to leave for college,' she says. 'Kids keep me on my toes and make me laugh; I love working with them.' She believes in treating the entire family. 'Although I always consider the needs of my young patients first, having the family on board for treatments and preventative care is important when it comes to successful outcomes,"" she says. Her hobbies include yoga, skiing, and getting outside as much as possible with her husband, twin boys, and dogs.
