Dr. Andrea Bettacchi Urban, MD

My wife and I interviewed several Pediatricians for our son Mitchell. We chose Dr. Urban even over other pediatricians that had been recommended to us by friends and family - and we knew nothing about her beforehand but were attracted by her specialization in lactation counseling. She and her staff are knowledgeable and competent. She is also a team player. Dr. Urban and our nutritionist work together to ensure that our sons nutritional needs our met. This is a paramount concern for us as we are mostly vegan and understand that vitamin deficiencies are common. What I appreciated most about our visits with Dr. Urban is that she gives her honest opinion. I am very skeptical of physicians in general and not a fan of the current medical system in this country. I am not easy to please. I wholeheartedly trust Dr. Urban with my son's health - period. We look forward to having Dr. Urban help with our son's care.

We were charged $35 for an inhalation demonstration EVEN AFTER I told her that we already know how and simply need a script. This consisted of the nurse taking an inhaler and saying, "You put your mouth here and press down." We were charged $70 during my other daughter's school required PHYSICAL for an inhalation treatment in the office. We have a nebulizer and medication (meds are $5 at the pharmacy) at home and I let the doctor know that. These items were not covered by my insurance and they received, from my insurance, over $1,000, yet would not waive the $70 fee. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AS IT APPEARS TO ME, THEY ARE TOO INTERESTED IN CHARGING OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNTS FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH.
