Dr. Andreea Olaru, MD

The negative reviews can't possibly be about my Dr. Alaru. She has never been anything but caring, thoughtful and ready to speak with me and listen. I've never had a complaint about the doctor and the Hunt Valley staff are wonderful people. I communicate with them mainly by email and have always received a response by email or phone from Dr. Alaru and her staff. I have referred numerous people to her and they have the same reaction.

Dr. Olaru is very condescending and does not listen to her patients at all. I have been diagnosed with a chronic illness that would have been rectified sooner had she taken me seriously. She talks over you and rushes you. She called me one day and during the process of me asking a question she began to yell at me! She told me my illness was in my head after testing elsewhere I was diagnosed appropriately. Do not see her.

I have seen Dr. Olaru approximately 4 times. If I had only seen her twice, I would completely agree with reviews advising she was not a great listener and spent very little time me. She seemed rushed and more concerned with what she thought over allowing me to describe what I had been experiencing.......THAT BEING SAID, the above applies to the first two visits ONLY. I think she read and LISTENED to feedback from patients. The past two visits have been great. She allowed me to completely explain why I was there and what I thought my issues may have been related to. She then asked several questions, that included not only physical history, but emotional and mental history (work and home life stress issues) before narrowing down the possibilities. Her diagnosis was spot on. I believe she is Eastern European, which in my experience translates to "matter of fact" and "all business." She had really transformed into a warmer and more attentive physician. I considered switching back to my… old doctor (who I left because I wanted a female physician); however, after the past two visits, I have decided to stay with Dr. Olaru.

She does speak quite rapidly, and is very much "in charge" during a visit. However, I have felt her to be more caring than other reviewers have stated. Her manner is matter-of-fact, but considerate, and leavened with some humor.

Dr. Olaru seems like she is in a constant rush and she does not appear to listen or to really care. You have to continue to repeat things, She often hurriedly interrupts you. She seems more interested in what she has to say than in listening to you, the patient.....and she is a bit condescending, it seems. She seems disorganized and superficially caring.....and it seems she would just as soon have the appt. over with. Her nervous demeanor and rush rush made me feel very uncomfortable. If one wishes for a Dr. with a bedside manner I would never recommend her. You don't walk away feeling confident or as though you have had a satisfactory experience.

I had a horrible experience with this doctor. My appointment was rushed and she was unable to address a health issue that I mentioned to her. She said she did not have the time. She forgot to give me my prescription which is the reason I came in. She is not a very good listener and has no compassion at all. I would never recommend her and will NOT see her again.

When visiting, I've found that the person-centered approach is NOT used.I've constantly had to repeat things that was important to me, reviewing the same info. from previous sessions constantly. My reports from test results is either lost or not followed up on.Too often my thoughts are interrupted,I'm spoken over,I'm left to feel extremely rushed & the Q's she ask,is precisely what I was already answering if given the opportunity. I've found her comments to be condescending with a disparaging undertone.As I walk away not please with my visit. I find she talks fast & moves about extremely too quickly w/o me feeling heard; which it's not a command it's a gift,that one gives as a good listener. When viewing my bill charges to my astonishment my insurance was billed over $200 for a 15 min visit. I suppose that's fine providing the physician's expertise & professionalism matches those standard, however, I found it to be unequal. More emphasis seems to be placed on getting one in/out and… getting paid $1000 per hour. It felt like I was @ a fast food chain & the experience was a terribly disingenuous one. I am now seeking sites that denotes the qualifications & other pt's feedback of their Dr's with a 5 star rating, just as I would when seeking a good hotel stat @ a reputable establishment that SERVE TO PERFORM WITH EXCELLENCE. For, getting quality healthcare I find is vital to ones wellness, and I behooved to be proactive where it concerns my Well-Being.

Dr. olaru is diligent in her work and an extremely personable individual. she was prompt in making sure that tests were scheduled in a timely maner expecially when pain is involved. She spoke to me in a way that I could understand and never failed to keep my dignity intact.She diagnosed a Problem that I Have That "Specilist" could not Identify. I will tell every one about her.
