I was diagnosed with Crohns disease 30 years ago. I have endured the disease for ages and have seen many doctors in many cities. Yarur has been a really outstanding doc for me. Even though I always hesitate to see young providers, he is extremely good at what he does and is likely more knowledgable than any of the oldest physicians. Is a Crohn’s and colitis guru and applies the latest therapies and techniques. More importantly, has outstanding bed side manners, I feel he understands me and will work with me on how I manage my disease and does not impose his opinion as the only option (as other condescending physician out there).

Dr Yarur saw me for IBD. He was the third person I saw in Milwaukee. While I don't expect a physician to magically solve an issue, his assessment and through process are amazing. Did not go for with other docs had done and evaluated me with "fresh eyes". We completely changed my treatment and now Im doing so much better. What I appreciate even more, is his empathy, dedication and compassion. Health systems now a days are corporations and medical providers have a very hard time as they need to follow those rules but despite all of this, he is able to provide top notch care in a very approachable manner.

Dr. Yarur was the doctor overseeing an endoscopy and colonoscopy procedure I received. During the colonoscopy part of the procedure, I half-awoke from sedation while the instrument was deep inside me and was in a great deal of pain. During this time I was unable to speak, however I did writhe in pain on the table and moan in an effort to communicate my discomfort. The nurses and technicians in the room scrambled hastily to help me, and I could tell they were concerned, but they stated they had given me all the medication they we’re authorized to give and that I should try to sit still and the procedure would be over soon. During all this, Dr. Yarur appeared to be unavailable. When I was in recovery, Dr. Yarur visited me briefly to tell me that I should be under general anesthesia in the future during procedures such as these, but provided no explanation for why this happened, what went wrong or how it could have been prevented. I didn’t even get a half-hearted “sorry that was so… painful and traumatic for you” apology. I went home that afternoon in a good deal of discomfort that continued for the next 4 days, along with bleeding and pain during every bowel movement. I called his office to report this, and they simply told me to go the ER (of the hospital the procedure was done at). Upset, but in a great deal of pain, I followed their instructions. At the ER, I waited for 5 hours, eventually going home because my sitter needed to leave, with nothing resolved. I bled and hurt for a couple more days, but things eventually healed on their own. On top of it all, the hospital refused to dismiss the $200+ charge on my bill for the sedatives they gave me that clearly didn’t work. Terrible experience and care all around.
