I am a very anxious person by nature. When I heard I was going to see a man for my first OB visit, I was really nervous!! He was not all business, which I like. We spoke about my pregnancy, and was very non judgmental with some other things I have going on. I was wrong to be nervous and I’m glad he is here.

Dr. Atkinson was my Dr. in Danville...he performed my surgery for a pelvic mass..he did my biopsy and it came back cancerous...he sent me to Duke oncologists..he is such a compassionate person...he followed through and was there for me to answer my questions....he has such a genuine concern for his patients...I have not seen that in a doctor in so long...many friends and family members were his patients..he is truly going to be missed by us all..your office is blessed to have him!!

My situation was not routine, I had cancer in my uterus that was found during my hysterectomy...Dr Atkinson did what he could to see if cancer had grown outside the uterus....he did lymph nodes, biopsies etc that werent his field but he did it for me...I was sent after that to a surgical oncologist and they said I didn’t need any further surgery because Dr Atkinson did it all so well the first time....I have nothin but respect for the man, he went way beyond his comfort zone and did as much as he could for me, it means so much.....

I saw Dr. Atkinson for the first time in the ER when I was bleeding to death, literally. He took me under his care and eventually after a couple weeks of management, performed a much needed hysterectomy. I cant thank him enough, he was very kind and got me thru one of the toughest times in my life. Thank you so much, Dr Atkinson
